Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | 3 Top 5 wins. They would've decimated Syracuse if they'd've had Tre Jones and Cam Reddish. |
| Tennessee | They beat Gonzaga & Louisville. Only lost was in OT to a KU team that still had everyone. |
| Gonzaga | Somebody show mercy to those poor WCC teams. #1 offense by far, and they've beat Duke. |
| Virginia | Missed out on both their chances against Duke, and failing to defend home court is rough. The game @UNC is even more super important now. |
| Kentucky | 3 points away from their only loss being on opening day against Duke. They've collected a pile of good wins since December. |
| Michigan | They're the only team that has handled Villanova from start to finish, but since then they've struggled on the road vs. ranked opponents. |
| North Carolina | They avenged their loss to Louisville, and the only other bad game they've had was against Texas. Also, they beat Gonzaga. |
| Marquette | I'm unsure if I want to put them above or below the pseudo-undefeated teams. All of their best wins are at home. Either way, a Top 10 team. |
| Houston | Best wins are against LSU and Cincinnati at home, but have won against every team they have played this year. |
| Nevada | Lost to New Mexico by 27 on the road, but beat them by 29 at home. So they've beat everyone they've played as well. |
| Michigan State | What the heck happened? This team looked like a title contender 2.5 weeks ago. |
| Kansas State | K-State would be undefeated in the Big XII if Dean Wade had been healthy. They're gonna meme their way into being Big 12 champions. |
| Purdue | Purdue has risen from the depths of hell (a 6-5 start) to attempt to claim the B1G throne. |
| LSU | This team is sneaky good. Only 1 point off from being undefeated in SEC play. They have a decent shot at winning the damn thing. |
| Florida State | Got back on the right track this week by beating Syracuse in the Carrier Dome and coming back to win over Louisville at home. |
| Kansas | Amazing resume, but the bulk of it was formed with a different roster than the one now. Losing Vick may be a death sentence for the streak. |
| Louisville | Their wins stick out more than their losses. |
| Virginia Tech | Their best win since December was also the ugliest game I've ever watched. They must get back on track before UVA and Duke come to town. |
| Wisconsin | Plenty of good wins, but losses against Western Kentucky on the road and Minnesota at home are too ugly to ignore. |
| Iowa | None of their losses are THAT bad. They just need some more good wins. By the way, they only face red teams until the postseason now. |
| Iowa State | They were doing fine, and then BAM: 10+ point loss at home to TCU. Still might claim the Big 12 title from the Kansas teams though. |
| Buffalo | Losing any more MAC games could spell disaster for the Bulls. Huge game @Toledo on Friday night. |
| Villanova | They been one shot away in 4/5 losses. The win keeping them ranked was against Florida State in Orlando back in November. |
| Maryland | Maybe the most average team out there. They'll probably will be one of those 7-seeds that gives the 2-seed a good game before losing by 12. |
| Texas Tech | I thought this team was gonna be awesome after watching the game against Duke. They've just been meh. Best win was over KSU minus Dean Wade. |
