Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | (-) |
| Gonzaga | (+1) Really close between them and Duke, will revisit next week. |
| Duke | (+1) Yes they lost to ND, but the knocked off previously unbeaten and very good UVA |
| Virginia | (-2) |
| Wisconsin | (-) Haven't done enough for me to have them jump UVA |
| Arizona | (-) |
| Villanova | (-) |
| Notre Dame | (-) So close between them and KU still, the win over Duke keeps them here despite the Pitt loss |
| Kansas | (-) Again very, very close between them and ND, so close that I have to remember the Kentucky and Temple losses |
| Louisville | (+1) Finally got a big win |
| West Virginia | (+2) I know I am likely too high on them, but all others in this area had an off week |
| North Carolina | (-) Played well at Louisville, can't justify a drop or a rise |
| Iowa State | (+4) Um, this area of my poll last week had a strange set of results so they are back here |
| Utah | (-4) Crushing USC helps keep them from dropping too far here. |
| Baylor | (-) Though they lost on the road I still feel they are a Sweet 16 team |
| Maryland | (-2) Again I think of this spot as a "Who do I see in the second weekend" spot and they fill it out |
| Northern Iowa | (+4) This is a reach for me, but this was a bad week for ranked teams |
| Georgetown | (+1) I know they lost to Xavier, but really this was a terrible week for teams with a number in front of them |
| Ohio State | (New) Welcome back after the impressive Maryland win |
| Oklahoma | (New) Won a game on the road, combine that with the strange week they get placed here |
| Butler | (New) |
| Wichita State | (-2) I was never high on them, and UNI took them to the woodshed. Lucky for them there had to be over reaches this week. |
| Seton Hall | (New) |
| SMU | (New) |
| Texas A&M | (New) Because why not [Out: Texas, VCU, Indiana, Stanford, GW, Miami] |
