Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | They move up after Kentucky's blunder. |
| Louisville | Good wins and no upsets (yet). |
| Michigan State | The Seton Hall win has redeemed MSU in my eyes (for now). |
| Kansas | Two solid wins after the early acceptable loss moves them up. |
| North Carolina | A P5 win plus good wins against weaker opponents moves them up. |
| Maryland | Good wins and they are 3-0. I'll move Maryland up. |
| Kentucky | I am willing to count the Evansville loss as an anomaly, I'll move them down to #7 at the moment. |
| Gonzaga | Great win at Texas A&M moves them up but Kentucky's fall must end somewhere. |
| Virginia | Virginia moves into the Top 10 for me as they ready for a match-up against a surging Vermont team. |
| Oregon | Great victory over Memphis! They move into the Top 10. |
| Ohio State | Ohio State blew Villanova out at home and sent them back to Bryn Mawr packing. They sit just outside the top 10. |
| Texas Tech | Texas Tech will stay outside of the top 10. They move up but have played no one of importance yet. |
| Arizona | Arizona moves up quickly with many other teams dropping or playing a weaker schedule. |
| Villanova | A loss to OSU won't push them back too much, but they will fall in my book. |
| Utah State | Utah State hasn't played anyone. Until they play St. Mary's or LSU we really don't know anything about them yet. |
| Seton Hall | A close loss to MSU will not drop them too far from where they sat in the rankings. |
| Memphis | Losing to Oregon is not bad, but they can't afford to lose too many games before conference play begins. |
| Xavier | Good wins but losses ahead of them doesn't allow them to move up too much. |
| VCU | Beating LSU gets you higher! |
| Texas | Several losses ahead of them moves them up. Their Purdue win is still impressive in my book. |
| Florida | Losing to a team that got blown out by St. Joseph's. That can sink you in the rankings. |
| Baylor | The Washington loss now isn't as special. They move up slightly. |
| Evansville | They move into the rankings and will represent the MVC for the first time in a few years in the rankings after the Kentucky win. |
| Colorado | Good wins so far, but only 2 games. This doesn't tell me too much. |
| Tennessee | Next 5: Penn State, LSU, Purdue, Utah, Vermont |
