Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | Jalen Suggs is a stud and this team is good. |
| Baylor | Dropped 112 on Lousiana and blew out the Huskies. This team is legit. |
| Iowa | Luka Garza could probably win games all by himself. |
| Wisconsin | Their two games were more lopsided than the scores, and the scores were lopsided. |
| Illinois | The Ohio game was a blip. The 62 and 59 point wins weren't. |
| Michigan State | The Notre Dame game was full-on domination. |
| Kansas | Can't blame them too much for losing to Gonzaga. These guys are still really good. |
| Creighton | Made quick work of NDSU in their only game. |
| Tennessee | Once they play, they'll be good. |
| Kentucky | Richmond's a good team, but Kentucky shouldn't have lost by 12. |
| Villanova | Villanova had a chance to take #2 away from Baylor... but... well... |
| Duke | The Coppin State game should not have been NEARLY that close. |
| Houston | Yeah, this team is gooooooood. |
| Virginia | Worst loss of opening week, and I'm sad I had to bump them down here, but oh well. |
| Texas | Is a pretty good team. Not much to say. |
| Florida State | Once they play, this is where they'll be. |
| Texas Tech | Not a great look being behind wire-to-wire to Houston, and those two essentially swap places. |
| West Virginia | Shouldn't have played so close to WKU and SDSU. |
| North Carolina | I'm still not sold with these guys yet. The Charleston was way closer than the final score. |
| Richmond | Richmond debuts at #20 with a huge win over Kentucky. This team is the real deal out of the A10 |
| Oregon | Don't know quite what to make of these guys yet, so I'll slot them right here. |
| Rutgers | Played easy opponents, beat them easily. |
| San Diego State | SDSU debuts to take the spot of UCLA after beating them. |
| Arizona State | A loss to Villanova isn't bad, but almost losing to Rhode Island knocks them down a few. |
| Ohio State | Shouldn't have played that close to UMass Lowell. Others under consideration: Louisville, LSU, Virginia Tech, Florida, Alabama |
