Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | +0 Should be unanimous number 1 |
| Baylor | +0 Should be unanimous number 2 |
| Kansas | +3 Shot unbelievably from the field, played excellent defense, and drubbed a top 10 team in WVU in the second half |
| Villanova | +1 One game this week but damn was it a good one. Convincing win against quality Marquette. |
| Houston | +2 UCF win is a really good win. I thought UCF might pull another upset but Houston played very well in the second half. |
| Wisconsin | +2 I'll be the first to admit I was low on them to start the year. A great week from this. |
| Iowa | -3 B1G basketball, am I right? Outside of Nebraska, any team in this conference can beat any other team. 13 legit tourney hopefuls. |
| West Virginia | -5 An excellent first half led to a dismal second half as Kansas was on fire and WVU was cold. Anyone take that halftime lead to a loss bet? |
| Tennessee | +0 Just keep winning convincing against teams they should beat convincingly. |
| Creighton | +3 Big time win against Xavier. I think they've stabilized to where they should be in these rankings. |
| Texas | +1 Not winning convincingly but they do have a great resume at this point. |
| Illinois | +3 I think this is still a top 10 team. An excellent week of convincing wins in B1G play. Another week like that is needed. |
| Rutgers | -3 Ru10ers hype has been paused for now. But this is a team that can beat anyone in the country (except for Gonzaga and Baylor, can anyone?) |
| Missouri | +0 Yes, they are below Illinois even though they didn't lose this week. But they really should've to Bradley. Be thankful they won. |
| Texas Tech | +1 Kind of in the same boat as Mizzou but a better team they played. OU nearly pulled off the upset, and really should've. But, Tech won. |
| Michigan State | -5 similar to Creighton, this is really where Sparty should be. Very rarely am I right, but I've been saying all year this wasnt a top 5team |
| Michigan | +2 Man, Michigan desperately needs to play someone. They could be in the top 10 right now if they had over the last 2 weeks. |
| Duke | -1 Duke didn't play anyone. Has two big games this week to really see where they are. |
| Xavier | +0 Not dropping Xavier for a close road loss to a top 10 team. |
| Florida State | +1 If they could pull off a convincing win against a team they should beat, they'd climb the rankings. UCF loss is fine. |
| San Diego State | +4 Excellent rebound after the loss to BYU. |
| Oregon | +4 It pays to be off near the bottom of these rankings. |
| Ohio State | +0 A dominating win against a great team, and then a one point loss on the road to a good team. Just B1G things. |
| Northwestern | +10 Yes, head to head NW beat OSU, but I'm not ready to say they're better. But, they had the best week of any week for any team this season |
| St. Louis | -4 St. Louis reminds me of Press Virginia and I'm feeling nostalgic so they stay in. 26-30: Arkansas, Minny, VTech, Clemson, UNC |
