Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | As we get toward the latter part of the season, my philosophy of my rankings will shift. There are two factors I consider: |
| Baylor | 1. Throughout the entire season, my rankings are based on who gives themselves the best chance to win every game they play |
| Villanova | 2. As we progress further until March, my rankings give much greater consideration to who can potentially win the national championship |
| Iowa | We really start to see this shift happen at this set of rankings. I'd like to point out a team like Michigan. |
| Texas | Michigan has looked impressive throughout the entire season, but they lost by an incredible amount to Minnesota this week. |
| Tennessee | I didn't drop Michigan too much because I know what Michigan is and they have more of an ability to perform well in 6 consecutive games. |
| Michigan | Or look at Louisville. I think I increased them even after a loss to Miami, because I think the team has the ability to make the Final Four. |
| Houston | So I'm sure this ballot will cause a bit of controversy, but that's how I have always tended to shape my rankings. |
| Minnesota | I don't look into the "what have you done for me lately," but rather a "how well can you perform over a considerable amount of time." |
| Louisville | |
| Oregon | |
| Illinois | |
| Wisconsin | |
| Florida State | |
| Ohio State | |
| Texas Tech | |
| Virginia Tech | |
| UConn | |
| Creighton | |
| Kansas | |
| St. Louis | |
| West Virginia | |
| Drake | |
| Virginia | |
| Colorado | Next 5 out: Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Oklahoma, Duke, Clemson |
