Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | 34-0, undisputed #1. |
| Villanova | 2 road losses (1 OT) in a tough Big East, and undefeated since Jan. 19. |
| Arizona | Absolutely crushed Oregon in Pac-12 'ship. |
| Duke | 1 rematch with UVA away from really knowing how good this team is. |
| Wisconsin | A loss to Rutgers keeps them off my 1 line. But who will be the 1 seed they match up with? |
| Virginia | Have not looked good as of late. Fallen out of 2 seed consideration. |
| Notre Dame | ACC champs - absolutely a 2 seed. |
| Iowa State | Big 12 Champs, 2-1 vs. KU. This team is on the verge of a 2 seed. |
| Gonzaga | The more I look at who they've beaten, the less impressive 32 wins looks... |
| Northern Iowa | Great team, but their close wins are not inspiring. Didn't have to beat WSU in Arch Madness. |
| Kansas | Injuries and ineligibility, inability to hold a lead or rebound. 2 seed weeks ago, 3 seed now. |
| Maryland | KenPom hates Maryland, but I can't see why. 3 seed. |
| Wichita State | Bad loss in Arch Madness, questionable calls and rowdy fans gave them MVC 1st. I don't know how good they are. |
| Oklahoma | Exceptional talent, great coaching. They're going to break some hearts in March. |
| North Carolina | ACC Runner-up, figuring things out at the right time of year. Just need to close out games and they would be REALLY good. |
| Baylor | So much rebounding ability, a win @ Hilton. Great team when Drew doesn't over-coach. |
| Arkansas | Made it to SEC final and kept it close until the last 8 minutes or so. |
| West Virginia | Took KU down to wire in AFH, puts up hell of a fight against Baylor. A few favorable bounces and this team has some signature wins. |
| Louisville | No clue what the Cardinals are this year. Top 20 for sure, but beyond that? |
| Utah | Hard team to figure out. Lack of composure recently. |
| SMU | Very few losses, and none ruinous to their resume. They get the UConn monkey off their back too. |
| Georgetown | Between Butler and GTown, I pick the Hoyas. Big East beat itself up this year. |
| Michigan State | Izzo knows how to do March. This team is similar to WVU, and would not surprise me if they reach the S16 or E8. |
| VCU | A few stumbles, but in general they have shown tons of fight and they finally beat Dayton |
| Stephen F. Austin | Still think these guys can break some hearts. Only one true stumble on the season. |
