Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | The Jayhawks don't need Diallo to win. Top 3 can be switched around in any order. |
| North Carolina | The team has looked good even without Marcus Paige. |
| Maryland | Maryland and Ohio State had similar games against Mt. St. Mary's. Is this bad for Maryland... (25) |
| Duke | Calling it: Grayson Allen will be the Christian Laettner for a new wave of "Fuck Duke"-ers. |
| Kentucky | Kentucky lost a lot to the NBA. Can the new freshman replace the talent they had? |
| Virginia | You could hardly tell Justin Anderson was gone in their 38-point victory over Morgan State. |
| Iowa State | Prohm should pick up where Hoiberg left off. |
| Oklahoma | They haven't played a game yet, but I'm jumping on the hype train. |
| Wichita State | I'm confident that Baker and VanVleet's last season will be their greatest. |
| Villanova | Don't know what I think of the Wildcats yet, but 10th sounds good for a team that has back-to-back 2-seeds. |
| Gonzaga | You can't learn much about a team from half a game... |
| Michigan State | Izzo gonna Izzo. |
| Baylor | They won by 42 over a team that has 61 wins the last two seasons. Possible Big-12 dark horse? |
| Butler | 144 points!! |
| Purdue | Haas/Swanigan/Edwards is a terrifying combination. They'll be insane when Hammons returns. |
| Cincinnati | Cincinnati will be a threat on the national stage if they can continue to score like they have been. |
| UConn | Transfers Sterling Gibbs and Shonn Miller are doing good for the Huskies. |
| California | California's starting 5 should win them a lot of games. |
| Indiana | I really hope Tom Crean doesn't screw this up for Indiana. The Hoosiers have a chance at a great season. |
| Arizona | I think Arizona has lost too much to be as good as previous seasons. They still have Sean Miller though, so who knows? |
| West Virginia | Had a really good season opener. They should be a threat in the Big-12 and March. |
| Utah | Confusing team: In their first game, 3 players scored over 20 points and another 2 didn't score at all. |
| Texas A&M | A good mix of returning experience and talented newcomers should make them a top team in the SEC. |
| Vanderbilt | They only allowed 41 points in their first game of the season. I'm on this hype train as well. |
| Ohio State | (3)...or good for Ohio State? |
