Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | Lose three starters? No problem. Just reload with the number one recruit, a high-major transfer, and two other high ranked recruits. |
| Kansas | Remy Martin and Joseph Yesufu? Hello! |
| Villanova | So many seniors running this team--as long as one or more can pick up the scoring hole that JRE leaves behind. |
| Michigan | The key to this team's success will be Jones and Brooks, the two upperclassmen. This young team will follow their lead. |
| UCLA | It seems like the attitude on this team goes back and forth, but tons of experience and adding a five star freshman looks good to me. |
| Texas | If Chris Beard can wrangle 7 transfers to working together, this team is a real threat. |
| Alabama | Sign me up for the JD Davison, Charles Bediako show |
| Kentucky | Washington + Wheeler might be the most entertaining backcourt in the country |
| Purdue | This may be a final four team when all is said and done, it just depends on the development of this sophomore class |
| Baylor | Lost a ton, but part of what made Baylor a national champion (cries) is their depth, and now that depth gets their moment. |
| Duke | I will be tuning in exclusively to watch Paolo Banchero dunk all over some fools |
| Memphis | If Penny can't get it done with this team, I'm not sure who he will be able to get it done with |
| Illinois | Admittedly might be a little low on these guys, but I want to see how Curbelo and Frazier step up. |
| Oregon | Similar to Texas, I have no idea how this team will work with all of the transfers, but it will be fun if it works. |
| Arkansas | The Muss Bus has no breaks |
| Houston | Replace Grimes with Kyler Edwards. Profit. |
| Ohio State | EJ Liddell will carry this team, but an inexperienced backcourt may be problematic. |
| St. Bonaventure | Returning all of your starters from a mid-major 9-seed is a recipe for success, and I imagine the Bonnies will have a lot of success |
| Tennessee | I wasn't a fan of how this team played down the stretch last year, but adding Chandler and Powell while retaining others make them strong |
| North Carolina | I am 100% in on the Caleb Love redemption tour |
| USC | Would love to see Boogie Ellis become "the guy" for this team and make for some fun UCLA-USC rivalry games. |
| Xavier | Very experienced, should get back to the tournament this year. |
| Florida State | Will be interesting to see how Mills and Fletcher, who were clearly unhappy with their previous schools, will play together |
| Virginia | This team has more question marks than usual, but I'm not one to doubt Tony Bennett |
| Maryland | Trusting Mark Turgeon has never gone poorly. |
