Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | Played great against a good Texas team, I've always been a Zaga skeptic, but they should be here to stay barring a bad performance. |
| Kansas | Beat a good Michigan State team, thought about placing them at 1, but Zaga played great vs Texas. Plus Tarleton played better thantheyshould |
| Villanova | Tough decision to put Nova over UCLA, but if that game was played on a neutral site, I think Nova would win by a few possessions. |
| UCLA | Great OT vs a good Nova team, but if UCLA would've won that game by multiple possessions in regulation, they would be 3rd |
| Michigan | Still good, but they let Buffalo make it a close game towards the end, but Buffalo is good so I won't knock them that bad for it |
| Purdue | 2 handled wins against mid 100 kp teams, but I need to see more. |
| Duke | Thought I was going to put Duke at 6, but they struggled against a Mid-100 KP Campbell, so I'll keep them here. |
| Illinois | Illinois performed better against better competition than Baylor did to theirs. |
| Baylor | Shame they only had one game for week 1, but they performed as they should against one of the worst teams in D1 |
| Texas | Didn't perform well at all against Gonzaga, but it was the #1 team in the nation on the road so I won't drop them down that far. |
| Alabama | Thought about putting bama ahead of Texas, but I think they should've played better against South Dakota St at home. |
| Kentucky | Didn't want to drop UK down too far for keeping it close to a good Duke team at MSG, and then dominated Bobby Mo |
| Memphis | Thought about placing UM above UK, but they haven't played a top 100 team yet, will have to reevaluate after some good comp next week. |
| Oregon | Handled a good SMU team. Will be paying attention to Oregon-BYU on Tue |
| Tennessee | Had to look at 15-19 longer than I should, all teams that have handled their competition, looking to see more. |
| Arkansas | |
| Auburn | Wendell Green is the GOAT, Go Colonels. |
| Maryland | |
| UConn | Played great, but against some of the worst teams in D1 |
| Houston | No excuse for letting Hofstra take them to OT, but they handled Rice. Maybe the Hofstra game was fluke |
| Florida | Beat a good FSU team, earns them a crack into the top 25 |
| Texas Tech | |
| Iowa | Handled their bad opponents like they should (Looking at you Bonnies) |
| USC | Had a decent Away win at Temple |
| Ohio State | Still think they're Top 25 material, but it's unacceptable to almost lose to Akron and let Niagara make it a game |
