Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Purdue | +1. Who else? |
| Baylor | +2. They look unstoppable right now. Will be good to see them play a real time. |
| Arizona | +3. Is this insane? Maybe. |
| Duke | -3. Ohio State game was bad... but in reality was a close road loss to a good team. Harsh to drop further than this. |
| Gonzaga | -2. Feels weird to say, but Gonzaga is suffering from poor coaching. Need better offense to free Timme and less terrible rotations from Few. |
| Villanova | -1. Haven't played a team with a pulse since Purdue. Not comfortable moving up more until they do. |
| Kentucky | +1. Taking care of business. |
| Kansas | -1. Not an entirely convincing win over St. John's. |
| UCLA | =. Looked fine against an okay Colorado team. |
| Texas | +1. Feasting on cupcakes. |
| Tennessee | +2. Winning at Colorado is never easy. |
| USC | +2. Nice win @Wazzu. Is Andy Enfield the COTY right now? |
| Alabama | +5. Beating Gonzaga makes you forget about a lot of bad basketball leading up to it. |
| Wisconsin | +1. Is Johnny Davis a 1st team All-American right now? |
| Arkansas | -3. Barely playing a D1 schedule lately, but at least they're doing it well. |
| BYU | -6. Went from looking like the best team in the country to looking really shaky in under a week. |
| Iowa State | +2. Looks legitimately good. Has multiple players who could go for 30+ on any night. |
| Houston | -1. Didn't drop because they did anything wrong, Iowa State is just playing and beating better teams. |
| Florida | -3. Not a terrible loss to OU, but not a good one. |
| Auburn | +2. UCF is a decent win. |
| LSU | +2. LSU is thriving off of... defense? |
| Colorado State | NEW. Don't make plans for December 21st. They have a real shot at Alabama. |
| Michigan State | NEW. Guard play has improved and the defense is awesome. Rotation needs to shorten a bit. |
| Ohio State | +1. EJ Liddell is playing like a POTY contender. |
| North Carolina | NEW. They're playing like a top 20 team. Now the question is whether the guards can sustain this level of effort. |
