Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | Returning with many key players from their national runner-up squad, and with the addition of a great freshmen class, they should be #1. |
| Arizona | Losing Gordon and Johnson leaves Zona in a pickle, but with the addition of S. Johnson, and returnees of RHJ and Ashley, Zona will be fine. |
| Duke | Although they lost two their two best players, the addition of the #1 freshmen class should help out Coach K and the Blue Devils. |
| Wisconsin | NPOY candidate Kaminsky and Dekker will lead this Wisconsin team to the top of the Big Ten. |
| Kansas | They may have lost 2 excellent players, but their freshman class, and returning players will certainly keep Kansas in the top 5. |
| Louisville | Smith may be gone, but Jones will fill in his role just fine. Harrell will be among the top players in the nation. |
| North Carolina | Paige will be the ACC player of the year. Brice Johnson will be a huge surprise to everyone. Lets just hope scandals don't get in the way... |
| Virginia | Harris isn't a huge loss, losing him may even be a benefit to the Cavs. Big things will come to then this season. |
| Wichita State | VanVleet and Baker are the best guard duo in the nation. Wichita State will be run through he MVC once again. |
| Florida | No one can say for sure what kind of season Frazier, Hill, and Walker will have, but Florida can sure be successful under them this season. |
| Villanova | 7/8 of their top players are back this season. They should be as good, if not better, then last season. |
| Texas | Freshman Myles Turner and Coach Barnes will be a scary pair to play against this season. |
| Iowa State | Niang should be a top 5 player in the Big 12. |
| UConn | They may have lost Napier and Daniels, but Coach Ollie, Boatright, and Purvis should keep this team afloat. |
| Gonzaga | Pangos, with the help of ex-wildcat Wiltjer, should lead Gonzaga to run over the WCC again. |
| VCU | Havoc will be successful once again. |
| San Diego State | This may be low-balling SDSU, but the loss of Thames leaves things up in the air for C. Fisher, but he should be able to lead them this year |
| Michigan State | Izzo has been able to make any roster work. They may have lost a lot, but they'll be just fine. |
| Oklahoma | If Thomas is allowed to play this season, they will certainly be ranked a lot higher than 19. |
| Ohio State | If Russell can play this year, Ohio St. can be pretty good this season. They won't be great, but they'll be good. |
| Syracuse | With the quartet of Cooney, Christmas, Gbinije, and Boeheim, Syracuse will certainly be able to hold their own this season. |
| SMU | Coach Brown should be able to keep this team near the top of the AAC, evenwithout Mudiay and possibly even Kennedy. |
| Nebraska | Everyone has high hope for nebrasketball. Will they be able to make a deep run in the tourney? Maybe. Hopefully. |
| Michigan | Hopefully their lack of depth doesn't get the best of them. Hopefully Beilein will be able to make LeVert and Walton emerge as great players |
| Stanford | Johnny Dawkins is getting better at coaching each year, and this year he will manage to keep them in the top 30. |
