Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Baylor | =. Looked beatable, but wasn't beaten. There are no true juggernauts this season, but they're closest. |
| Arizona | +2. Took care of business. |
| Gonzaga | +2. Pepperdine is bad, but that was a shellacking. |
| UCLA | +2. Looked shaky coming off the COVID pause. But unlike Duke, came away with 2 wins. |
| Auburn | +3. Is anyone playing better than Auburn right now? |
| Duke | -4. Two shaky home games coming off the COVID pause. Not concerning long-term, but a bad stretch nonetheless. |
| Kansas | =. Really poor defensive showing against a terrible Texas Tech offense. |
| USC | +2. Unlike about every other top team in the country, they didn't lose this week. |
| Kentucky | +3. I'm moving them up, sue me. Lost a close short-handed road game against a good team, looked unstoppable in their other game. |
| Purdue | -8. Butler game is Purdue's only convincing win since Iowa back on December 3rd. |
| LSU | +12. Had the best week in the country... |
| Wisconsin | +5. Except for Wisconsin. Still think LSU is better though. |
| Michigan State | =. Slowly working their way through the entire back half of the conference. |
| Villanova | +4. Does anyone want to play this team right now? |
| Iowa State | -4. Double digit loss to a solid OU team, could be worse. |
| Xavier | -1. Nice road win, got burned by other movement. |
| Houston | +4. Dinged them too much post-injuries, Carlton is a monster. |
| Ohio State | -9. Two ugly performances. |
| Seton Hall | =. Nice wins. |
| Texas Tech | +4. Can't fault them too much for losing @ISU, turned around and knocked off Kansas. |
| Illinois | NEW. Probably should've been ranked last week. |
| Tennessee | =. Is there a less interesting good team in the country? |
| Oklahoma | NEW. Would I expect the 24th ranked team to lose by a few @Baylor and then beat ISU at home? Probably. |
| Loyola Chicago | NEW. Dropped out: Virginia Tech (19), UConn (20), Michigan (15), Illinois (10), Maryland (24), Oregon (23), Xavier (25). |
| San Diego State | Dropped out: Providence, Alabama, Colorado State, Texas. |
