Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | The best team in the country so far |
| Michigan State | A close second, closer than people think. Good win over Providence |
| Maryland | Big game against UNC for the chance for a quality win |
| Kansas | Loss to MSU, but they've played well otherwise |
| Oklahoma | Beat Wisconsin, but then again, so did Western Illinois |
| Iowa State | Another tough team from the Big 12 |
| Villanova | Don't count out the Big East this year - Nova is here to stay |
| Duke | Big loss to Kentucky and have struggled since. They've managed to pull them off though. |
| Purdue | Strong team out of Big 10 |
| Syracuse | Excellent performance in Atlantis leads to a big jump |
| Arizona | Lost to Providence, but they won't fall too far |
| Cincinnati | Played well against GWU |
| Xavier | Again, the Big East is good this year. |
| Virginia | Loss to GW not super bad, but not good either |
| North Carolina | Game against Maryland will be huge |
| Oregon | Don't count out the Quackers |
| West Virginia | Mountaineers are still unbeaten but no true quality win |
| Gonzaga | Third place in Atlantis isn't bad |
| Texas A&M | Neither is second |
| Providence | Beat Arizona earlier this week. |
| Louisville | Undefeated but no great wins. MSU game is huge |
| Northern Iowa | That CSU loss stings, that UNC win helps |
| GW | Loss to Cincy hurts, but Cincy's a good team and it was close |
| UConn | Two losses in Atlantis will hurt them for now. We'll see if they can bounce back. |
| Vanderbilt | Narrow loss to Kansas their only blemish. |
