LvilleCards5's Ballot for Week 3 of 2014-15| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Kentucky
|
Sure we don’t know how good Kansas is, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t finish in the top 3 in both offense and defense |
| 2 |
Duke
|
I’m very confident in saying that this team will finish as the best offensive team in the country by the end of the year. |
| 3 |
Wisconsin
|
These next two teams are interchangeable to me at this point. But I'll give Wisky the tiebreaker considering they've played one more game. |
| 4 |
Arizona
|
7th in kenpom offense has to be thrilling for Arizona, who only has to be decent offensively in order to be a title contender. |
| 5 |
North Carolina
|
Much like Duke, I see this team being so good offensively. Not entirely sure I trust their defense though. |
| 6 |
Louisville
|
Louisville’s Big 3 of Harrell, Rozier, and Jones has looked as good as any team’s, but I really don’t trust their bench at this point. |
| 7 |
Wichita State
|
They very well may have the best backcourt in the country with FVV, Cotton, and Ron Baker’s hair. |
| 8 |
Virginia
|
They’re still in the ACCs 4-team elite. I’m sure I’ll be shuffling the order of those four until conference play starts. |
| 9 |
Iowa State
|
I think they’re the most dangerous, explosive, and dreamiest team in the Big XII. But I really, really have questions about their defense. |
| 10 |
Texas
|
I think Texas could be one of two or three potential losses that Kentucky sees during the regular season this year. |
| 11 |
Gonzaga
|
Sure we really don’t know how good SMU is at this point, but I really feel like this is Mark Few’s best team. |
| 12 |
VCU
|
They took care of business late against a very solid Toledo team after crushing a team from a mid-major conference in their opener. |
| 13 |
San Diego State
|
San Diego State beating a good Utah team 53-49 and then winning 51-27 is the most San Diego State thing ever. |
| 14 |
Michigan
|
Michigan will start winning and they’ll start to rise in the rankings, but I want to be among the first that said they were good. |
| 15 |
Florida
|
UF’s not great, but when healthy, I see them being very, very solid. |
| 16 |
UConn
|
Boatright has been mostly good, but the lost to WVU concerns me. |
| 17 |
Ohio State
|
DeAngelo Russell is amazing. I really think this team is better than last year. |
| 18 |
Villanova
|
They didn't blow out Lehigh or Bucknell, so I can't have them ranked very high right now. This team has good individuals, but I'm not sold. |
| 19 |
Kansas
|
They still have huge questions at PG, Perry Ellis remains overrated, no one can seem to shoot, and Oubre & Alexander can't stay on the court |
| 20 |
Michigan State
|
They held their own against an incredible Duke team, so I'll err on the side of having an Izzo team overranked. |
| 21 |
Nebraska
|
We really have no idea how good this team is considering their nonconference schedule is poop. |
| 22 |
Miami (FL)
|
The win at Florida was exciting and Rodriguez is angelic. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the fifth best team in the ACC. |
| 23 |
UCLA
|
18th in Kenpom suggests maybe they could compete to be the second best team in the Pac-12. |
| 24 |
Indiana
|
This team looks good! JBJ has been better than fans have hoped, and I think all the offseason Crean criticism has made this team underrated |
| 25 |
West Virginia
|
They looked great against UConn and they still have Staten. It wouldn't be unrealistic for them to win the Big XII. |
