8 | Providence | Friars doing strong with a couple good wins Chance to really rise with Big East play. |
9 | South Carolina | Gamecocks undefeated but really haven't beaten that good teams yet. Still, the SEC is weak this year, so they could do well. |
10 | Arizona | Wildcats doing well this year. No bad losses. |
11 | Iowa State | Tough loss to Oklahoma, but they're playing well this year. |
12 | Villanova | Villanova with a big win over Xavier |
13 | West Virginia | Mountaineers playing well but now they get into Big 12 schedule |
14 | Texas Tech | Texas Tech also playing well, we'll see how they do in Big 12 |
15 | Miami (FL) | Hurricanes managed to recover nicely from that Northeastern loss |
16 | Iowa | They beat Michigan State and Purdue in the same week. Impressive. Three losses but they're all forgivable. |
17 | Butler | Tough week, but both losses are forgivable |
18 | Kentucky | Kentucky may be bouncing back from a couple bad losses. We'll see. |
19 | Duke | Same with Duke. |
20 | North Carolina | Tar Heels have a couple not so great losses. They've played well otherwise but there are too many good teams right now. |
21 | Purdue | Tough loss to Iowa drops them |
22 | Texas A&M | Aggies playing well this year. |
23 | UConn | Huskies get back into the Top 25 with a win over Texas and a lot of other teams losing. |
24 | Seton Hall | Pirates are 12-2, but now have to deal with the Big East |
25 | Dayton | Dayton is only two losses, plus a big win against Iowa, which looks better now than at the time. |
