Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Oklahoma | Loss at ISU not damning (ISU very tough at home), and rebounded nicely with win against Baylor |
| North Carolina | Two wins over middling opponents (Wake, VT) but got the job done |
| Iowa | This was toughest spot for me (3,4,5 of Iowa, KU, and Nova). Iowa has been lights out and another win over top 25 team allows them to rise |
| Villanova | Tough loss at Providence in OT |
| Kansas | Very bad loss at OKST, worst performance of the season by far |
| Texas A&M | Only unbeaten left in SEC play, we will see if they are for real against ISU |
| West Virginia | Gritty comeback against TT to salvage a split for this week |
| Maryland | Maryland played hard against MSU, but the Spartans were desperate. Can't fault MD for MSU's near perfect performance |
| Xavier | Xavier now nearing the meat of their schedule, can they keep pace with Nova? |
| Michigan State | Horrid loss at home against Nebraska, but demonstrate how talented they are with win against MD. |
| Providence | I might be higher on them than most, but supremely talented and an excellent OT win vs Nova |
| Iowa State | Huge win at Hilton vs OU, need that performance to carry over if they want to make a run at KU |
| SMU | Perfect season falls flat as Temple too much |
| Virginia | 2 work-man like wins this week |
| Miami (FL) | 2 solid wins to rebound after a poor week, The U staying within reach of ACC top |
| Louisville | Lackluster performance vs GT but able to finish the job |
| Arizona | Unspectacular. Solid team, but star power missing to do any serious damage |
| Baylor | Tough to drop them, but ISU, UL, Providence climbing forced them down |
| Indiana | Soft Big10 schedule not their fault, IU continues to take care of business |
| Purdue | Tough loss at Iowa, but still playing well and poised for a run in the Big10 tourney |
| Dayton | Solid team with exceptional athletes, Miller has the Flyers playing excellent as of late |
| Saint Mary's | Besides loss at Pepperdine, the Gaels have been a force in the WCC |
| Kentucky | Takes advantages of losses by Butler, USC, Duke |
| Pitt | No spectacular wins to go with record, but plenty of chances to improve resume coming up |
| South Carolina | Tough to measure even with two losses. Too many poor losses by WSU, Valpo, VCU to rank ahead of SC |
