Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| North Carolina | |
| Oklahoma | Buddy Hield is probably the POY. |
| Xavier | Xavier is actually the best team in the Big East, and that says a lot about how good they are. |
| Iowa | They lost @ MD in a close game when their best player had his worst game? Iowa is still the best team in the B1G |
| Kansas | Close home win vs. rival on your own home court, but it took Kentucky's best game of the season to do it. |
| Maryland | Trimble and Sulaimon keep this team winning |
| Villanova | Providence is gonna be a bracket-buster come March, but Villanova is still top 1 or 2 in Big East |
| Texas A&M | Solid win over a very good ISU team |
| Virginia | Has UVA figured out how to win on the road? Maybe. Bad losses, but they're 4-0 against ranked teams. |
| Iowa State | The loss @ College Station hurts, but ISU still has a great resume. |
| West Virginia | Still a good team, but probably UF's best game all season, and they shot the ball very well to win. |
| Providence | Probably this year's NCAAT's bracket-busting team. Wins against Butler are looking less impressive |
| Michigan State | That 3-game skid was ugly, but they've rebounded with two solid wins. |
| SMU | The Mustangs haven't played a ranked foe all season, and it doesn't look like they will, either. How good are they, really? |
| Miami (FL) | NC State just doing NC State things. I won't hold it against you, Miami. |
| Kentucky | Heroic effort against KU... I still think they'll finish #2 or 3 in the SEC. |
| Purdue | 2 of their 4 losses came to Iowa... their games against MD and MSU should be very telling. |
| Louisville | So UL's best win was against an overrated Pitt team? Beat down by UVA. Still haven't proved themselves. |
| Baylor | |
| Oregon | The Ducks beat Arizona @ Arizona? Losses to Boise and UNLV aren't pretty, but they're playing better now. |
| Arizona | |
| Wichita State | Slowly creeping back into things now that they're healthy, they could once again be a bracket-buster. |
| Indiana | Still not sure how to feel about IU. Such an easy schedule so far. |
| Dayton | |
| South Carolina | Next few: Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, USC, VCU, Colorado |
