Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Michigan State | MSU or Kansas could easily both take the top spot, but MSU is hot right now, and it's stupid to bet against Izzo in March. |
| Kansas | Easily the best of the Big 12. |
| Virginia | I don't count the Duke game as a loss, so their only loss lately was @ a very good Miami team. Looking great. |
| Villanova | |
| North Carolina | A "good loss" @ Virginia. Other teams moving down means they move up. |
| Miami (FL) | |
| Indiana | They're in first place in the Big Ten and are playing well. Hopefully Crean can find some success in March. |
| Louisville | |
| Xavier | The win vs 'Nova was set to launch Xavier into the top 5, but the immediate stumble to Seton Hall leaves them about the same ranking. |
| Oklahoma | Oklahoma got the benefit of the doubt last week, but 3 losses in the last 5 games means it's time to drop. |
| Purdue | Playing well, despite being right in the middle of the Big Ten standings. No recent bad losses, just a tough schedule. |
| Oregon | They won the games they were supposed to. Other teams moved down. |
| Maryland | Maryland has a ton of talent but are struggling the last two weeks. Seems like Melo might have gotten his shot back. |
| West Virginia | Nice win against ISU. The stats back them up. |
| Arizona | Two losses this week. |
| Iowa | Iowa has dropped there last 3. Need to turn things around going in to March. |
| Kentucky | |
| Duke | Still don't know what to think about this Duke team. They're good and they're bad. The last game against UNC should be fun. |
| Texas | Awesome win against Oklahoma. Shaka is coming in to his own now. Texas heating up while other members of the Big XII cool down. |
| Baylor | |
| Utah | Nice win against Zona. |
| Wisconsin | Last week they had our attention, and this week they deserve to be ranked. Have won 10 of the last 11, only loss @MSU. 3 top-10 wins. |
| Iowa State | The state of Iowa is not liking February it seems. Hopefully they get things turned around in March. |
| Texas A&M | |
| Seton Hall |
