Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | Thought the Cats were obviously #2 before Duke's loss, so they end up here (assuming they don't shit the bed against Duquesne tonight) |
| Villanova | 'Nova looked good in a solid win over Purdue, and benefit from a Duke loss. |
| North Carolina | Heels looking good so far; very balanced team with lots of veterans. |
| Kansas | Huge win over Duke, but a loss to IU. Still think Kansas is a top-5 team, so I'm keeping them here at 4. |
| Duke | I'd drop them further if they weren't missing so many players for injuries, but they also had a solid win against URI today. |
| Indiana | IU really impressed me in their win over Kansas; they're playing at a much higher level to start the season than I anticipated. |
| Virginia | Virginia has looked solid, but no big wins to really justify moving them up higher |
| Arizona | Solid win over MSU, and getting Trier back is YUUUUGE |
| Louisville | No big wins yet, but benefit from teams around them losing. |
| Syracuse | 'Cuse has been a pleasant surprise so far; playing very cohesively early on. |
| Xavier | I bumped them down as punishment for going to OT with a probably terrible Mizzou team. |
| Gonzaga | |
| West Virginia | |
| UCLA | |
| Maryland | |
| Texas | |
| Creighton | |
| Iowa State | |
| Wisconsin | Bad, bad loss to Creighton. |
