Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | Banged up and shorthanded squad took Kansas to the last second and handled PSU/URI; enough to prove their meddle to me. Full Roster #1 Easy. |
| Kansas | Frank Mason and Graham are definitely the best backcourt, Svi and Jackson talented on the wings, season comes down to Bragg and Azebuike |
| Kentucky | All the talent in the world Malik Monk wasn't supposed to be this good of a shooter and Isaiah found a shot in the offseason. |
| Villanova | Consistent, Consistent, Consistent. Might be the best coached team, still too smallbut proved they can handle size against Purdue |
| Indiana | The offense might be the best in the country, and the defense is finding it's legs as it's young core grows. |
| North Carolina | Will be relying on Hicks and Meeks a lot this year, but already proving they have depth at every position, can they find a shooter? |
| Virginia | The dismissal of Nichols came as a shock, but I don't anticipate UVa to skip a beat defensively, they'll lack a bit of size and depth now. |
| Arizona | Trier appears to be reinstated which will add talent and another warm body. |
| Xavier | A relatively unimpressive 4-0 so far, but Sumner is looking like the real deal, if they get Davis back this team's thinking F4. |
| Oregon | Got caught with their pants down against Baylor. Dorsey's absence was notable, but not worth 18 points. This team can't suffer mental lapses |
| Purdue | Purdue played big against the defending champs, and followed that with a gutsy comeback, look like a winning team. |
| Louisville | Different year, same shit. Pitino has these guys playing aggressive D and turning it into O |
| UCLA | So far Lonzo Ball has breathed life into what was a predictable offense. can they get enough on D to compete? |
| Creighton | Creighton might legitimately challenge Kansas in backcourt skill, a big statement win over Wisky welcomed the Jays to the national stage. |
| Gonzaga | Business as usual for Gonzaga, Cal transfer Jordan Matthews has given the Zags a new dimension to their offense. |
| Saint Mary's | Lots of hype coming into the season returning 5 starters, and they've lived up to it thus far have KenPom's #6 Offense. |
| Iowa State | Iowa State has been impressive with Naz Long and Monte Morris running a high powered offense |
| Wisconsin | The loss against Creighton exposed some flaws, they're resistant to run with fast teams and are too quick to chuck up bad shots. |
| West Virginia | Press Virginia has shown up in force and the athletic defense has led to good O, they're a less talented Louisville |
| Syracuse | No real challenges thus far, but the defense looks to be on point and Boeheim has the athletes he likes. |
| Cincinnati | Played tough agains URI and followed the loss up with a domination of a talented PSU squad, same old Cincy maybe more offensive talent. |
| URI | Talented squad played an emotional game against Cincy, proving they belong, couldn't get up for Duke the next day |
| Michigan | This team looks far better than any of us expected, Derrick Walton is leading the offense to new heights |
| Texas | The athletes are there for Shaka, but it's been a relatively mediocre 3-0 thus far. I'll give them another week to impress. |
| Baylor | Big win against Oregon earned them a spot - Next Five: MSU, NCSU, UF, WSU, OSU |
