jckund's Ballot for Week 4 of 2016-17| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Kentucky
|
#1 from last week - wasn't really challenged this week. Let's see how they fare vs UCLA |
| 2 |
Villanova
|
Also unchallenged this week - super efficient, methodical offense. Will wear opponents down - defense has been a bit shaky |
| 3 |
Duke
|
Had Duke here last week and this is where they will stay. |
| 4 |
Kansas
|
Weird game vs Georgia but hey it's a win. Really like this team when Josh Jackson is active attacking the rim. |
| 5 |
North Carolina
|
Tempting to put this team as high as #3. Completely dismantled Wisconsin - Kennedy Meeks looks unstoppable. |
| 6 |
Virginia
|
Prov and Iowa were decent opponents but not great ones. Still, UVA looked completely in rhythm - this week (OSU, WVU) will tell a lot |
| 7 |
Baylor
|
Baylor is a top 10 team. Unbelievable string of victories including a comeback vs Louisville. Motley is a man child. |
| 8 |
Xavier
|
Quiet week, but had no problems beating Northern iowa for the second time. Kaiser Gates is back, Myles Davis back soon. |
| 9 |
Saint Mary's
|
One of the slowest teams in CBB - defense is nothing special, but offense will rip you to shreds. Some OK tests this week, might be a while. |
| 10 |
Gonzaga
|
Impressive win over Florida, a team that was quickly rising on my board. Zags will give a lot of teams problems in the post |
| 11 |
Creighton
|
Slow week, but this team is good. Might finish non-conf undefeated. |
| 12 |
Louisville
|
Don't think the loss to Baylor hurts... this team looked as good as any in the first half. |
| 13 |
Indiana
|
Strange loss to Fort Wayne. Let's put Indiana here for now until they play more than 4 games... |
| 14 |
URI
|
Belmont has had a tough year, but it's still a good win for URI. Hurley has challenged his team this season w/ scheduling. |
| 15 |
Florida
|
I'll buy into the hype now. Handled Seton Hall and was virtually even with Gonzaga... |
| 16 |
Purdue
|
Nothing new here - same story |
| 17 |
Iowa State
|
Indiana St was a weird game. Cyclones redeemed themselves by beating Miami and nearly topping the Zags |
| 18 |
Wisconsin
|
Losing to UNC wasn't bad, but man this team looked bad in that game. Heavily reliant on rebounding... |
| 19 |
UCLA
|
They passed the eye test - tons of scorers. I was iffy on them, but beating A&M was impressive. |
| 20 |
Butler
|
Really impressive win over Arizona - Bulldogs finally have size. |
| 21 |
Syracuse
|
27.6% shooting from two against South Carolina... at least the defense is good? |
| 22 |
Arizona
|
This team will be better when Trier gets going. For now, they'll stay at the bottom of the top 25. |
| 23 |
Cincinnati
|
Good team, just haven't gotten much exposure yet. Looking forward to Thursday vs Iowa St |
| 24 |
South Carolina
|
Do they belong here? I don't really know... but they're 6-0 with an experienced core group |
| 25 |
Notre Dame
|
Took care of business at the Legends Classic - littered with shooters, this team is tough to guard. |
