Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | Eye Test says best team in country as of right now. |
| Villanova | Undefeated and hasn't looked shaky. |
| North Carolina | Handling Wisconsin with ease cements them as deserving of top 5. |
| Kansas | Loss against Indiana hurts a bit, but best of the 1-loss teams in my opinion as they've looked good since. |
| Baylor | Great resume as of now, good wins. Strong team that was underrated to start season. |
| Duke | Top tier talent, good team. Only loss to Kansas who is also seeming to be a top echelon team. |
| Virginia | Undefeated and have been putting teams away early- good sign. |
| Indiana | Loss to Fort Wayne looks awful. Wanted to drop them further but still a good basketball team who beat Kansas. |
| Xavier | Not much to say, won their games but no major tests yet. |
| Creighton | Looked very good so far, win over Wisconsin helps. |
| Gonzaga | Winning tournament is good, nothing amazing enough to boost them as teams like Creighton and Baylor have been more impressive. |
| Louisville | Loss to Baylor does not seem to hurt them as of yet since Baylor has looked so good. |
| Arizona | One loss drops them a bit, but was a close game and so not a lot. |
| UCLA | Keeps winning so stays steady. |
| Saint Mary's | Keeps winning so stays steady. |
| Purdue | Haven't lost this week so not much movement, wins didn't make a statement either way for this program. |
| Butler | Win over Arizona looks good, and undefeated so definitely top 20. |
| South Carolina | Wins over a ranked Syracuse and a ranked Michigan put them in the Top 20, especially since both were convincing wins. |
| Maryland | Undefeated jumps them into the rankings as everybody else has started dropping games. Close game with Georgetown doesn't look that good tho. |
| Iowa State | Solid performance in their tournament this week, loss to Gonzaga doesn't hurt immensely as the Zags shot extremely well and it was close. |
| Wisconsin | Another loss drops them further, and those games not being close doesn't help. Keeping them in because NC and Creighton seem very good. |
| URI | Only loss being at Duke doesn't hurt them terribly, will need a statement win at some point though. |
| Syracuse | Loss to South Carolina hurts a bit, but not enough to entirely drop them from rankings. Very close to being left out though. |
| Michigan State | A third loss has to drop them a bit, but it being to Baylor doesn't kill them as Baylor has looked great. Still believe theyre a top 25 team |
| Florida | One loss to Gonzaga, but performance in the tournament overall was good. Just enough to give them the nod over Notre Dame or Cincinnati. |
