RankTeamReason
Villanova University Logo Villanova I still think Duke ends up at 1, but Nova's depth, experience, shooting and versatility give them claim to #1. Purdue win was huge
University of Kansas Logo Kansas Recent move to 4 perimeter players makes offense more dynamic. Jackson at 4 will be a nightmare for opposing teams. Duke win was enormous
Duke University Logo Duke Tatum and Bolden getting healthy means we can soon see the true Duke. Scary thought since they have played pretty well without both
Baylor University Logo Baylor Best resume to this point. Will probably revert to the mean and fall into 12-16 range. 5/8 wins have come against at large caliber teams
University of California, Los Angeles Logo UCLA UK win was biggest win of any team to this point. Explosive guard oriented offense but TJ Leaf was most impressive vs UK. Elite Glue guy
Indiana University Bloomington Logo Indiana Loss @ IPFW was not good, but IPFW is better than people give them credit for. UNC and Kansas wins will be huge come march
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Logo North Carolina Tough loss in a very tough environment vs IU. Bigs are usually their advantage but were negated vs Bryant and OG
University of Kentucky Logo Kentucky Home loss vs UCLA was surprising but UK's upside still very high. Fox, Briscoe, Monk best backcourt in country. Hawkins and Willis are glue
Xavier University Logo Xavier No shame in losing @ Baylor. Played a sneaky strong RPI schedule up to this point. Need Davis back to reach full potential. Post is weakness
Gonzaga University Logo Gonzaga Strong veteran team that should be undefeated for tilt vs SMC. Strong wins vs Florida, Iowa St, and Zona. All on neutral.
Saint Mary's College of California Logo Saint Mary's Top 50 road wins vs Stanford + Dayton should be enough in no league. Should be undefeated vs SMC in a month
Creighton University Logo Creighton Loss of Hanson hurts but Patton has been great thus far. Watson, Foster, Thomas have been awesome
West Virginia University Logo West Virginia great win at Virginia. No stars but all 9 rotation guys contribute. Carter and Adrian are standouts. Ahmad is X factor
University of Wisconsin-Madison Logo Wisconsin Low ceiling team. Should be somewhere between Creighton and Cuse. So 13-40.. Need more litmus tests to gauge range. Bench is an issue
University of Virginia Logo Virginia Surprising loss vs WV. Offense is great as always but D has been lacking. Prov, Ohio St, and WV were allowed too much on offense
University of South Carolina Logo South Carolina losing Thornwell hurts. They need him back ASAP. Inexperienced frontline may catch up to them
University of Louisville Logo Louisville elite defense team that struggles offensively. Purdue was great matchup. Mahmoud was playing great they need him to get healthy
Purdue University Logo Purdue Lville was worst matchup.. Swanigan and Haas will have advantage against almost every other frontline but Lville has elite defensive bigs
University of Southern California Logo USC Boatright out six weeks is tough, but the freshman Melton and Matthews have exceeded expectations. Good wins @ A&M and over BYU + SMU @home
University of Florida Logo Florida really good RPI wins. Duke will be huge test this week. early 20's feels right for Florida
University of Oregon Logo Oregon Oregon has not been as advertised and that is because Brooks has not had a smooth transition back. When 100% Oregon will rise to low teens
Butler University Logo Butler low ceiling but 20's are right for now. Arizona win was huge. Big tests vs Cinci this week
University of Arizona Logo Arizona PJC out means they are very thin. Shaky resume to this point. MSU not as good as expected
University of Cincinnati Logo Cincinnati Huge win at Hilton. Only loss to URI on neutral. Evans fulfilling promise as breakout player
Iowa State University Logo Iowa State Next 5: Va Tech, Notre Dame, Ohio St, Valpo, Texas AM
