Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | Kennard and Jefferson are currently 4th & 5th in the KPOY Standings and are probably 4th and 5th in talent on Duke's roster. |
| Villanova | Haven't been tested since the win over Purdue, now lead KenPom. Still worried about size often play 5 players 6'7 and under, only one at 6'9 |
| Kansas | Undefeated since the opening night loss to Indiana, they're sub 60% and 339th nationally in FT%, only blemish on their stat sheet. |
| Baylor | Baylor has by far the best resume to this point with wins over Oregon, VCU, MSU, UL, and now Xavier. Motley and Lacompte are killin it. |
| Kentucky | The loss against UCLA exposed some immaturity, this UK team plays far too fast and reckless, which allows them to out athlete many teams. |
| Indiana | Indiana beat UNC by the book, shooting threes and preventing a huge advantage on the boards. No more Fire Tom Crean, this team is complete. |
| North Carolina | UNC played their hypothetical kryptonite in Indiana, their offense has been a tad sloppy, too high tempo and allowing steals at a high % |
| UCLA | Impressive win vs. Kentucky. After a rough opening 4 minutes, Ball calmed down and balled out and their length and versatility shined |
| Gonzaga | Holy cow they looked good against Arizona, can anyone compete with this amount of size and depth? |
| Louisville | Louisville quietly has the best defense in the nation and isn't reliant on turnovers, just solid guarding leading to a bad eFG% |
| Saint Mary's | They beat a strong Stanford team on the road and continued their amazing offensive proess, only complaint is they dont get to the line. |
| Xavier | Very tough road loss exposed some of their offensive flaws that many of us were concerned they'd have in the absecse of Davis |
| Creighton | The offense continues to shine, but the defense won't be enough. Eventually they'll have an off night. but not yet. |
| Virginia | Press Virginia befuddled them. UVa was able to instill their tempo, but couldn't execute or hit the shots needed down the stretch |
| Wisconsin | Back to back impressive wins over Cuse and OU have me feeling better about an uncharacteristically sloppy Wisky team |
| Butler | Kelan Martin has shined and with that Butler has excelled. |
| West Virginia | An impressive showing against UVa, many worried they didnt have top flight athletic talent, but that should quiet the doubters |
| Purdue | Failed both tests so far, are turning it over at a high %, but the team is talented and emergence of freshman Edwards as 6 man is good sign |
| Arizona | For a team that's playing 7 maybe 8 deep and is missing a top talent they're not looking bad. Markannen is actually underrated at this point |
| Oregon | Settling in after a tough start, Brooks still doesnt seem 100% but Boucher has picked up the slack |
| Florida | This defense looks exceptional, but should have its hands full against Duke. Canyon Barry will need to hit shots to keep them in it. |
| USC | Another solid win, this time over BYU; the Trojans are protecting the ball at an elite rate, but should worry about their Def3P% trending up |
| South Carolina | The loss of Thornwell for any extended time would be a deathblow, he's been their MVP in 5/7 games he's played |
| Cincinnati | Big tough fought win at Iowa State this past week, it's time to realize this team has the offensive pieces to match it's dangerous D. |
| Notre Dame | Next 5: VaTech, WSU, Cuse, Michigan, Iowa St. |
