xBRxNecromancer's Ballot for Preseason of 2014-15| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Kentucky
|
The talent level on this team is enormous. Kentucky enters this season as the favorites and it seems that they are their biggest enemy. |
| 2 |
Arizona
|
Arizona, like Kentucky, returns a core of their team from last year along with a mix of incoming talent. I expect great things. |
| 3 |
Wisconsin
|
Wisconsin returns nearly the entire Final Four team, and has one of the best players in the country. |
| 4 |
Duke
|
Somehow Duke always makes it work. They find massive amounts of talent, and have the best coach in CBB to use it. |
| 5 |
North Carolina
|
Less distractions, and more time to build chemistry. UNC is always talented, but can they put that to use efficiently. |
| 6 |
Kansas
|
Lost several top players, but Kansas also brings in top talent. Self is an excellent coach with a few good leaders returning to help gel. |
| 7 |
Louisville
|
Possibly should be ranked higher. While losing Russ is big, Luke being gone might be a bigger issue. Several returning vets help. |
| 8 |
Texas
|
I was surprised how good Texas turned out to be last year. They should only improve and contest Kansas for that Big 12 title. |
| 9 |
Virginia
|
Another year for their efficient PG surounded by upper classmen. I think Virginia will be able to sustain from the loss of their seniors. |
| 10 |
Wichita State
|
Lost some of their inside game, but they still have Baker, VanVleet, and Cotton. They will still be good. Don't worry. |
| 11 |
Gonzaga
|
Seniors and lights out shooting are two things I can get behind. The Zags look to be explosive and hard to defend this year. |
| 12 |
Iowa State
|
Losing their two big seniors will hurt, a lot. I think Iowa State will still be able to contend, but the question is who will step up. |
| 13 |
Florida
|
Not as experienced as last year, but the hunger to go further than before should help motivate UF. Hill and Frazier are outstanding. |
| 14 |
Villanova
|
Tremendous talent in the backcourt should help make the frontcourt's job easy this season. |
| 15 |
VCU
|
Keeping key pieces from last years run, this team should be able to tear through their conference and contend in March once again. |
| 16 |
UConn
|
Daniels and Napier are huge holes to fill, but Boatwright proved he was capable of leading in stretches last year. Who else will help him? |
| 17 |
Michigan State
|
The start of the season may be rough, but Mich St. always finds a way to compete with anyone as the season goes on. Dawson is kind of good 2 |
| 18 |
SMU
|
Brown has done a fantastic job of turning SMU around. The talent level is here to make a nice run and come back from the snub. |
| 19 |
Ohio State
|
This team will be good defensively, but just like last year, the real question will lie in how well the offense functions. |
| 20 |
Oklahoma
|
Hield is a monster, and if transfer Thomas can play, then OK will be able to to have a top tier backcourt. Woodard should maintain form. |
| 21 |
Nebraska
|
Petteway is very impressive and Nebraska should be able to improve upon last years surprise success. |
| 22 |
Harvard
|
Saunders should help lead a talented Harvard team. Losing the seniors shouldn't be a major problem as they have pieces to fill in. |
| 23 |
Stanford
|
Brown can shoot lights out while Randle is an outstanding scoring PG. With decent inside play the Cards will compete. |
| 24 |
Iowa
|
Iowa had a solid season last year, but ran into a hot Tennessee team. They look to build on their poor end of last year. |
| 25 |
Kansas State
|
Foster and Gipson should lead a scrappy Wildcats team. Edwards will be a nice transfer from Maine. |
