6 University of Kentucky Logo Kentucky Even with the loss against Kansas, the Wildcats still have a strong team.
7 University of Louisville Logo Louisville The Cardinals have a strong defense this year, and coming off a blowout win at Pittsburgh this team is at #7.
8 University of Virginia Logo Virginia After a big win at Notre Dame, and a loss at the buzzer versus Villanova, this Cavaliers team deserves #8 in the rankings.
9 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Logo North Carolina The Tar Heels get a #9 ranking, because they have the best conference record in the ACC and had a good performance at Florida State.
10 West Virginia University Logo West Virginia The Mountaineers are a powerful team, proven after beating Kansas.
11 University of California, Los Angeles Logo UCLA UCLA, though dropping its last two, is a very fast, strong team. Although the Bruins lack experience, they have put together a great team.

17 University of Notre Dame Logo Notre Dame Notre Dame has a powerful team this year, and has proven themselves in wins against top ACC teams.

24 University of South Carolina Logo South Carolina The Gamecocks have a good team this year, and have important wins against great teams in the SEC, but have lost a few to lesser teams.
25 Southern Methodist University Logo SMU SMU has built a Tournament team again. They also continue to be at the top of the American with the Bearcats.
