Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | Gonzaga is my #1 overall seed right now. They have a great balance of guard to big play and currently are undefeated. |
| Villanova | Nova's only two losses are good losses and they are 6-1 vs ranked opponents. Great Team. |
| Kansas | Tough Schedule. Great Wins. No bad Losses. This team doesn't lack many things, but needs to improve its Achilies Heel: FTs. |
| Baylor | Great bounce back week for the Bears with big wins @Ok State and VS.TCU by 18. #3 vs #4 on Saturday should be legendary. |
| Oregon | Blew a big one vs UCLA, but I love the makeup of this team and think they can play their way into #1 seed consideration. |
| North Carolina | Dropped a tough one to Duke this week, but I see them bouncing back with big wins this next week @NCS and vs. #14 Virginia. |
| Arizona | A lot of people are counting out the Wildcats since their meltdown @Oregon, but many don't realize they're still #1 in the top heavy Pac 12. |
| UCLA | Big win over Oregon this week. They now have two great wins and can make a statement if they win out. |
| Louisville | A lot of people have Louisville ranked higher, but I see them as a very good team that still has some work to do to be great. |
| Wisconsin | It's absurd they were left out of the top 16, even with the loss to Northwestern. This team is very good filled with veteran talent. |
| Florida State | Vs. Notre Dame they showed their immaturity. Although, they are still in prime position in the ACC. |
| West Virginia | Press Virginia looked solid vs. KSU on Saturday. This team is on the fringe of being great. |
| Florida | Florida is on a roll right now. Another excellent week puts this team right where they want to be in the battle for the SEC. |
| Virginia | Great Defense is their staple. That wasn't the case Sunday night @VT. At 18-6 this team faces an insane week vs. Duke and @UNC. Yikes. |
| Duke | Duke is finally starting to look like a team that likes each other. They had a huge win vs. UNC on Thus., then grinded out the win vs Clem. |
| Purdue | Good team that has the chance to be a top 3 seed if they win the games they're supposed to. |
| Kentucky | Still a lot of work to do for Cal, but there's one thing he always has with his multitude of 5 stars. Potential. |
| Cincinnati | The Bearcats are 22-3, but have only 1 win against my current Top 25. I think they are a good team but their resume is weak. |
| Maryland | A solid team without many quality wins. Can improve their stock on Sunday with a win @Wisconsin. |
| Creighton | Not as good without Watson, but still playing well. Need to compete @Nova later this month to impress me. |
| SMU | Not a lot of good wins, but the win over Cincinnati was a big one that makes them a lock for the tournament. |
| South Carolina | Suffered a tough home loss to Alabama this week, but still control their own destiny in the SEC. |
| Wichita State | WSU is a well rounded machine this year. A team without any marquee wins but they sure do pass the eye test. |
| Northwestern | HUGE Win @Wisconsin. This team looks poised to make the tournament for the first time EVER! |
| Saint Mary's | In the same boat as WSU with their schedule. It's going to be tough for them to get out of the middle tier the rest of the season. |
