Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Gonzaga | Undefeated with a solid resume. Definitely deserve to be #1. |
| Kansas | KU has the best resume in the nation being 4-0 vs AP Top 5 teams; the first to do so since the 2012-13 Duke team. |
| Villanova | Handled business this last week. Have quality wins, but lack a top 5 win. Solid team. |
| North Carolina | UNC looked dominant this week. They have a tough remaining schedule, but are currently in the drivers seat for the ACC. |
| Oregon | Although Oregon is in 2nd in the Pac12 I see them as the best team. Many will argue for Arizona or UCLA, but I'm w/the Ducks. |
| Arizona | The 2nd best team in the Pac12. Can prove a lot this next week against UCLA. |
| UCLA | My 3rd straight Pac12 team ranked. The reason for this is that all 3 teams are so tight. Should make for a great Pac12 tourney. |
| Baylor | Had a rough week, but are still a very good team with a solid resume. Big wins early on keep them at #8. |
| Louisville | Very good with all of their guys back healthy now. Have a prove it game this week @UNC. Over Duke because of H2H win. |
| Duke | They're healthy, they have chemistry, and they're insanely talented. If not for the loss to NC State at home they might be in my top 5. |
| Florida | Hayes stepped right in for Egbunu as the Gators pulled out a tight win at MSU. Florida is the best team in the SEC. |
| Purdue | Purdue is on a roll right now winning 5 straight. They might just win the Big10. |
| Kentucky | This team annoys me because they could be great, but are playing below their potential. They can try to change that this week vs Florida. |
| Wisconsin | Have been reeling as of late, but still are a very good team. A lot of veterans, should be even better once they get healthy. |
| West Virginia | Blew a key chance against KU this week and almost let one go against Texas Tech. Huggy Bear can't be happy with this team's recent play. |
| Cincinnati | Only one win vs. my top 25, but still a good team. Got back to what they've been doing this week: winning. |
| Creighton | Starting to prove they are legit without Watson. Still a lot to show, but made positive gains this last week. |
| Maryland | Although they went 1-1 it was a nice week for Maryland. They went into NW and beat a hot team and the loss in Madison was expected. |
| SMU | SMU has a well rounded team that might end up winning the AAC. No reason they should be screwed over this year. |
| Wichita State | They're going to keep doing what they've been doing until tournament time. Don't expect much to change. |
| Saint Mary's | I like them more than most people. Although, I have them at #22 because their resume is weak. Only chance to improve is the WCC tournament. |
| Virginia | I considered dropping them from my rankings. They looked terrible and I am not a fan of how this team plays. Not the system, but the players |
| Notre Dame | Notre Dame is one of my sleeper teams this season already. They were up, then down, now up again. Watch out for the Irish. |
| Butler | Sporadic team that has some great wins and just as bad of losses. Only 6 losses so they're looking fine for now. |
| VCU | Gotta give the little guy some love here. VCU is a tournament team. They have a few bad losses, but overall their resume looks solid. |
