Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Arizona | Trier should be a consensus all american this year and DeAndre Ayton looks to be a star right away |
| Kansas | Frank Mason is obvs a big loss, but Bill Self brings back a ton of roster talent & Graham looks ready to emerge as a star |
| Duke | It's Duke. 5 Stars freshman are everywhere & Grayson Allen is still lurking around. Should be a great team by seasons end |
| Michigan State | Miles bridges looks poised to take this team as far as he can and a late March run seems inevitable |
| Villanova | a 5th straight Big East Crown seems well within reach - Brunson should be able to finally break through and take this team with him |
| USC | Everyone is back for this season in LA. They are loaded with talent and might be the most fun offensive team in the country this year |
| Florida | This team returns most of their E8 team and adds 2 transfers who can score. A lot rides on Egbunu coming back to be truly elite though |
| Cincinnati | Cronin might have his best UC team this year and the cross town classic should be as good as ever. Cincinnati basketball is here to stay |
| Notre Dame | I love a strong veteran team and this might be the most experienced team in the country heading into this year outside of Lawrence or Tucson |
| Wichita State | This team should be really good this year, but it is a lot harder to adjust to a new conference than many think and may lead to some turmoil |
| Kentucky | Kentucky of course has a ton of roster talent, but they are even younger and less experienced than usual this year with no Jr/Sr on the team |
| Miami (FL) | A scary backcourt should keep the Canes in contention for an ACC title this year. Bruce Brown is a stud |
| North Carolina | They lost a ton of talent, but have a strong recruiting class - hopefully Berry doesn't miss much time and the champs will be back |
| West Virginia | Press Virginia should be solid again this year with Jevon carter leading the charge and plenty of depth to keep the press rolling |
| Xavier | Coming off an impressive finish to last year, they are poised to take the next step |
| Purdue | Don't sleep on Purdue, even without Swanigan - they still have a lot of returning minutes (4 Srs) & can shoot the 3 as well as anyone |
| Gonzaga | Zags lost a lot of talent, but they did reload with some solid recruits. I still have to assume they will still take care of the WCC |
| Minnesota | Pitino has this team's defense among the best in the country which should keep them close in games throughout the year |
| Seton Hall | Returning starters abound & one of the stronger defensive teams in the country - this team should be competing for a Big East title |
| Texas A&M | Robert Williams is a monster and is going to be in the NBA sometime soon. This team is poised for a bounce back season with a lot of talent |
| Louisville | There are/will be so many distractions this year, not to mention a brand new coach - this season, should be if nothing else fun to watch |
| UCLA | Young and inexperienced, but should still be a fast paced offense who can put up a lot of points |
| TCU | Jamie Dixon had this team playing really well at the end of last season and they should be ready to make some noise in the Big12 |
| Alabama | Lot of returning minutes for this team and a very strong recruiting class have the tide ready to make some noise in the SEC this season |
| UCF | Next 5: Baylor, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma and Northwestern |
