Digz4Gallia's Ballot for Week 8 of 2014-15| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Kentucky
|
Tremendous road win over a top-5 program...not to mention it being a rivalry game. |
| 2 |
Duke
|
Another quiet week for Duke. |
| 3 |
Virginia
|
Didn't play a game, but benefit from Arizona's slip up. |
| 4 |
Villanova
|
Only had the 25-point win over NJIT, but they look solid. |
| 5 |
Louisville
|
I'm keeping them at #5 due to the overall quality of this team. I think the loss to Kentucky will be an exception for the Cardinals. |
| 6 |
Gonzaga
|
Move up due to Arizona's loss. Had a nice road win over BYU. |
| 7 |
Arizona
|
The loss to UNLV hurts, but I think the Wildcats are still in a good position at this point. |
| 8 |
Iowa State
|
No games for the Cyclones this week. At this point, with Kansas losing, the Cyclones look like the Big 12's best team. |
| 9 |
Wisconsin
|
Had a nice road win over Cal, then followed up with a 12-point win over Buffalo. |
| 10 |
Notre Dame
|
Convincing win over Northern Illinois. Welcome to the top-10, Notre Dame. |
| 11 |
St. John's
|
The Johnnies keep impressing me, which is why I have them knocking on the doorstep of my top-10. |
| 12 |
Maryland
|
Another program that continues to impress me is Maryland. It'll be interesting to see how the Terps fare in conference play. |
| 13 |
West Virginia
|
Had the win over Wofford. WVU continues their nice non-conference performance. |
| 14 |
North Carolina
|
Only had the UAB win this week. A little leery about putting the Tar Heels back into the top-15, but I'm willing to take the risk. |
| 15 |
Utah
|
Won by 14 over South Dakota State. They move up due to a few losses this week. |
| 16 |
Texas
|
Had a close loss to Stanford this week. I thought about dropping them further, but I think Texas can bounce back. |
| 17 |
Wichita State
|
Came close to winning the Hawaii tournament. Had a big win over LMU, followed by a gritty 1-pt win over host Hawaii, before the GWU loss. |
| 18 |
San Diego State
|
Had two big wins over teams they were expected to dominate. |
| 19 |
Kansas
|
Yeesh. That loss to Temple wasn't pretty. Really conflicted about where to put KU this week, but decided their overall work was top-20. |
| 20 |
Ohio State
|
The Buckeyes were clicking this week, which may be a good sign as they head into conference play soon. |
| 21 |
Colorado State
|
Welcome to the top-25, CSU! The Rams remain undefeated (13-0) with wins over Charleston Southern and NMSU this week. |
| 22 |
Northern Iowa
|
Only had the win over South Dakota State this week. UNI continues to look good as they head into conference play. |
| 23 |
Washington
|
A Sunday night loss to Stony Brook ruined any hope the Huskies had at a top-15 spot. For now, they stay in my poll. |
| 24 |
TCU
|
Only had the Grambling demolition this week. This is definitely a fringe team for me. |
| 25 |
Providence
|
Providence enters the top-25 with a win over Miami (FL). At 10-3, I think they'll have a say in how the Big East shakes out. |
