Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | It's kinda annoying how incredible they have been |
| Duke | Week off, no movement |
| Wisconsin | Hey, Cal, thanks for immediately losing that game Sunday night. Bad enough half the B1G is gonna fuck up our RPI come seeding time /salt |
| Virginia | This team is awesome and stuff |
| Arizona | Losing one game to a very talented UNLV squad shouldn't really drop this team very far. We all know they're still elite. |
| Gonzaga | Nice job getting the W over BYU and Collinsworth's triple-double |
| Louisville | Can we really even drop teams that lose to Kentucky? I did kinda hope they could pull it off. Oh well the Cards are still very good |
| Villanova | Got a scare from NJIT but this-year's Villanova is no this-year's Michigan |
| Iowa State | I'm not sure why some people have the Cyclones ranked in the 17-22 range. This team is a powderkeg now that McKay has joined the party |
| Utah | Utah fans were talking about the Utes being a Top 10 team pre-season, and I thought that was a little homerish. Well, I was wrong. |
| Oklahoma | Not entirely sure what to make of that Washington team, but OU is legit. Dat scoring margin in the first half the other day |
| Texas | I'm not dropping Texas far; Stanford has talent, and is a stupid, annoying inconsistent team. But they can beat people. Texas is still good |
| Maryland | There's a whole lot to like about what this team did non-conference, mostly without Wells. Now, they'll be tested immediately @ the Izzone |
| Colorado State | Bejarano isn't always the most efficient scorer, but he's not going to go 0-10 very often. The Rams are starting to get some love |
| Ohio State | Ohio St is a tough team to read, but in a year when everyone has bad losses, they don't have one. Plus, they have a couple tremendous players |
| Northern Iowa | UNI opens MVC play @ an intriguing Evansville team, but this team has every right to believe they, not Wichita St, are the league's top dog |
| Wichita State | There's no shame in losing a neutral-court game to a good G-Dub team. But these Shockers have shown some weaknesses. UNI = legit challenger |
| Kansas | What the fuck, dude |
| West Virginia | The Mounaineers are far from perfect, but some people still aren't ranking them. That's a mistake. Potential tough game w/ Va Tech upcoming |
| Notre Dame | They hammered Northern Illinois, and will look to do the same against Hartford before opening ACC play. |
| St. John's | A pair of blowout wins since the last rankings, and the Johnnies are entering Big East play as a rising threat to Villanova |
| North Carolina | It will be interesting to see how consistent this team can be in ACC play. |
| Baylor | A close win over Southern wasn't ideal, but the Bears have one final tuneup vs Norfolk St before starting Big 12 play. @ Oklahoma. Buckle up |
| Georgetown | An OT win vs Indiana gives G'town its best win so far. That one-point win vs Florida doesn't blow me away, but G'Town has no bad losses |
| Washington | See, this is the kind of shit that made me very, very hesitant to jump on the Huskies bandwagon two-ish weeks ago |
