Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | Most talented team with best resume. Came through in clutch against MSU, UT, FLA |
| Villanova | Undefeated, winner of Battle 4 Atlantis |
| Michigan State | Played Duke tough, beat UNC in winning PK80 |
| Kansas | Not as impressed by win over Kentucky as most likely are. |
| Cincinnati | Really solid team. Untested thus far. Will know more when they play Xavier next weekend. |
| Florida | Gutty performance in Portland. Played better than I anticipated. |
| Texas A&M | Impressive wins over WVU & USC. May be best front court in country. |
| Notre Dame | Impressive win over Wichita St. in winning Maui Invitational |
| Wichita State | Almost beat Notre Dame even without Markis McDuffie, so can't drop them too far. |
| Minnesota | Impressive resume wins over Providence & Alabama |
| Miami (FL) | Haven't played anyone to warrant top 10 ranking as of yet. |
| Baylor | I question this team long term, but wins over Wisconsin/Creighton, gotta rank them high. |
| Virginia | Looked good in preseason NIT. |
| North Carolina | Did not look very good against MSU, but pedigree still has them in top 15 for now. |
| TCU | Underrated team. Well balanced. Return all production from last season. |
| Alabama | Have been very impressed. Awesome defense and athletes. Sexton a gamer. |
| Gonzaga | No shame in losing to Florida in 2OT |
| USC | Looked shaky against Vanderbilt, blown out by Texas A&M |
| Kentucky | Not overly impressed yet. Quite poor on defensive end. |
| Louisville | Looked mediocre against George Mason, haven't been tested yet. |
| West Virginia | Less than impressive thus far, but playing without Ahmed. |
| Arizona State | On fire. Have scored +90 every game. Nice wins against Xavier, KSU, SDSU |
| Xavier | Good team but ran out of the gym by ASU in second half. |
| Seton Hall | Won't drop them too much for loss to good URI team. |
| UNLV | Have looked very good. Versatile, and play great defense. |
