Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones bring incredible potential to an experienced group of returners. We will learn more about this group on Nov. 18 |
| Arizona | With one of the best groups of wing players in the country, Sean Miller and the Cats should have another great season and win the Pac-12. |
| Kentucky | Loaded as always and will probably be the best Kentucky team in recent memory. |
| Kansas | If Bill Self can get the young Jayhawks roster ready for Kentucky, they have a good chance at going unbeaten until they play Florida in Dec. |
| Wisconsin | Returning two of the best players in college basketball, Kaminsky and Dekker are my pick to win the B1G. |
| Louisville | Montrezl Harrell will be a force down low, and Pitino will look to lead the Cardinals to a strong showing in their first season in the ACC. |
| Florida | Billy Donovan is one of the best coaches in the country, and Florida will be a contender for the SEC title. |
| Iowa State | Georges Niang is one of the most dominant players in basketball, and Hoiberg should have this group scary as always. |
| Virginia | One of the best defensive teams in the country will likely look to slow teams down and play smart basketball. |
| Villanova | Ryan Arcidiacono is one of the most underrated guards in the country, and will lead Nova to another great year. |
| Wichita State | I think they have the best backcourt in the country with Fred VanVleet and Adam Baker returning to lead the Shockers in the Missouri Valley. |
| Syracuse | I am higher on Syracuse than most, because I think Rakeem Christmas and Trevor Cooney will have breakout years. Pair of frosh bolster lineup |
| Texas | I think Myles Turner will be the B12 POY, but I have my doubts about Barnes and Ridley putting together a supporting cast. |
| UConn | The darlings of March Madness, Kevin Ollie is one of the hottest coaches in the country and should continue his hot streak into 2015. |
| Michigan State | Izzo will always have the Spartans playing tough basketball, but a depleted roster could mean a down year in East Lansing. |
| North Carolina | Marcus Paige will garner NPOY conversation, and rightfully so, but I don't know that Isaiah Hicks can replace McAdoo's production. |
| Oklahoma | The offseason has been quiet as usual from Lon Kruger and the Sooners, but they could potentially contend for the B12 title if they get hot, |
| San Diego State | The best defensive team in the country and experienced returners add up to another strong team for the Aztecs. |
| VCU | Shaka Smart should have this group in order with Treveon Graham leading the charge in his encore performance after being A10 POY last season |
| SMU | Larry Brown will try to help SMU get over the loss of heralded recruit Emmanuel Mudiay, and SMU should make right last year's tourney snub. |
| Michigan | Caris LeVert will be one of the most explosive players in the B1G this season, and should lead the Wolverines to another top seed. |
| Ohio State | Losing a nine-year starter in Aaron Craft, Thad Matta will have a tough time replacing him and it will be a mediocre season in Columbus. |
| Stanford | They play some of the most efficient basketball in the country, and after upsetting Kansas last year in the tourney will contend in the PAC. |
| Harvard | Another fundamentally strong team, Harvard should easily win the Ivy League and be a dangerous team come March. |
| Nebraska | Terran Pettaway was incredible, but I do think a lot of last season's run was momentum and see another poor road performance this year. |
