Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | NOTE: Numbers signify moves from my ballot last week. NR means previously unranked. |
| Duke | 0. Dominant wins beginning in the ACC |
| Wisconsin | +1. Convincing, powerful wins this week. |
| Virginia | -1. Still undefeated, but looking a whole lot more vulnerable than Wisconsin after blowing a 18 pt. lead at the half against Miami. |
| Louisville | 0. Wake Forest was closer than expected, but still a good win. |
| Gonzaga | 0. Played well this week. |
| Utah | +2. Villanova and Iowa State dropped. |
| Maryland | +2. Road win over MSU. It was a game full of dirty play and screw ups but it was impressive for being new to Big Ten. |
| Arizona | +2. Convincing wins. AZ is back. |
| Villanova | -3. Lost to an unranked team(Cats always choke against Pirates). Would've dropped way more, but Seton Hall looks great now. |
| Iowa State | -3. Lost to an unranked team, but boy oh boy is South Carolina looking good. |
| North Carolina | 0. Won well over Clemson. |
| Texas | +2. Good defense, and a win over teams that hate Texas? Yes please. |
| Notre Dame | 0. Notre Dame turned on the signature offense to rally over GT. Looked vulnerable at first but had a comeback win. |
| Wichita State | +2. Decent week. Played well. |
| Oklahoma | +2. A great win over Baylor elevates Oklahoma in the wide open B12 contest. |
| West Virginia | +2. I feel bad for TCU... But this was the first big test, and WV won without a key man and TCU didn't win. |
| Kansas | +2. Played well this week and got their focus back. |
| St. John's | -3. You would think St. John's would drop further.... but Seton Hall has been playing well and had two upsets this week. |
| Seton Hall | NR. Oh boy. Two convincing wins over highly ranked teams. This team is on a roll and will make noise in the Big East. |
| Ohio State | -8. I don't even know why I had them ranked so high last week. Sorry. It was a fluke. But the Illinois win keeps them ranked imo. |
| VCU | NR. Played well against Fordham, and has a player with huge numbers of steals. |
| Baylor | -1. They played a strong Oklahoma and performed about as expected--- but a loss is a loss! |
| South Carolina | NR. Has been playing top 25 level defense for quite a while now, and a good win over Iowa State where SCAR forced a shutdown. |
| Northern Iowa | -2. Didn't play well, with that loss to Evansville. |
