Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Villanova | (LW: 1) Villanova easily brushed aside Xavier; no question about who is the team to beat right now |
| Duke | (LW: 2) This team still has all the talent in the world, but they need to prove they can win on the road, Miami stands in the way next. |
| Virginia | (LW: 6) This may be Tony Bennett's best team in Charlottesville, they better not be looking ahead to Duke, however. |
| West Virginia | (LW: 3) No shame in losing in Lubbock, and with Esa Ahmad back the Mountaineers still may be Big 12 favourites. KU may disagree. |
| Wichita State | (LW: 5) The Shockers are quietly taking care of business in their new conference, while waiting for the Cincinnati games to come. |
| Texas Tech | (LW: 9) Have to admire the resiliency of this Red Raiders team to come off the loss to OU with that great performance on Saturday. |
| Oklahoma | (LW: 11) Have you heard about our lord and savior Trae Young? He willed the Sooners to a solid win over TCU to keep OU in a tie for 1st. |
| Purdue | (LW: 10) Michigan is a good quality win, something the Boilers don't have a ton of chances for left on the schedule. |
| Xavier | (LW: 8) Xavier proves that they are definitively the 2nd best team in the Big East, not a bad place to be. |
| Michigan State | (LW: 2) Figured this Spartans team would bounce back better than they did, luckily the B1G offers quite a few easy games for MSU. |
| Arizona | (LW: 12) Hard to gauge these Wildcats, loads of talent but not showing it against the PAC 12's inferior talent. |
| Kansas | (LW: 14) I wanted to see Kansas play a little better against the "weaker B12 teams" at home, but at least they pulled out 2 wins. |
| Cincinnati | (LW: 15) Much like Wichita, the Bearcats are beating teams they should beat, and waiting for the Shockers to come to town. |
| Auburn | (LW: 16) The SEC is currently controlled by Auburn, and the conference is not even having a down year. That's how strong Auburn is this year |
| Arizona State | (LW: 7) Only 2-3 in Pac 12 play so far, with close wins against Utah and OSU. Sun Devils need to play like its 2017 again. |
| Seton Hall | (LW: 13) How will this team respond after getting demolished by Marquette? Games against Creighton and Xavier will let us know |
| North Carolina | (LW: 20) Really curious to see how this team plays against Clemson. They've been a tough team to figure out this season so far. |
| Clemson | (LW: 17) The Tigers are playing well, especially at home. On Tuesday they have a chance to win in a place they've never won before. |
| Kentucky | (LW: 19) Interesting week for this Cats squad, road test @SC and then the Gators come to town. @WVU is looming as well. |
| Gonzaga | (LW: 21) Finally the time is here. Gonzaga faces Saint Mary's this week in their 1st real test of the conference season. |
| Nevada | (LW: 22) I believe this team can go toe to toe with most P6 squads, but they have to continue to prove it, @BSU on Saturday should be fun. |
| Tennessee | (LW: NR) The Vols continue to show out against quality SEC opponents, two more tough road games this week. |
| TCU | (LW: 18) Yes, they are 1-4 in the conference; however, none of those losses made them look bad. Not as much room for error left though. |
| Ohio State | (LW: NR) Holtmann has this team way ahead of schedule and Bates-Diop is a big part of this turnaround. |
| Boise State | (LW: NR) Chandler Hutchison is the best player that almost no one has heard of. Next 5: Florida State, Michigan, Miami, Florida, URI |
