Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Villanova | Despite all of the chaos this week, Nova remains on top. |
| Virginia | Two tough games for UVA this week, at home against Clemson and they go to Cameron this Saturday. Two wins puts them at #1. |
| Purdue | Bar graphs will be going crazy this Sunday. And a vengeful Michigan comes into town on Thursday. |
| Duke | Well, congrats on getting the top 3 recruits of the year. |
| Kansas | Just when everyone thought the Big 12 would be different this year, Kansas looks like they will end up on top. |
| Michigan State | Sparty bounces back with a huge win at home against Indiana. Illinois and Wisconsin should be wins, but Maryland is a trap game. |
| West Virginia | Just like last year, they had this game in the bag. Such a tough loss. Will be interesting when they go to Fort Worth and host Kentucky. |
| Xavier | Huge road win against Hall. They should get by Marquette this week at home, but you never know. |
| Cincinnati | Cincy re-enters the top 10 from preseason and looks like the best team in the AAC after Wichita lost twice this week. |
| Arizona | Zona also re-enters the top 10 for the first time since week 3. Impressive road win against an actually solid Stanford team. |
| North Carolina | Another year, another win at home against Clemson. |
| Oklahoma | Trae Young did not look good against Kansas. They did lose a heartbreaker against Oklahoma St, which loses their top 5 ranking. |
| Ohio State | Can't wait for that OSU-Purdue matchup whenever it is. I hope both teams remain unbeaten in conference play. |
| Texas Tech | Tech drops 3 of its last 4, yet has two winnable games this week when they play Oklahoma St and at South Carolina. |
| Louisville | This MAY be a stretch, but these guys are 5-1 in ACC play. Part of this ranking has to do with everyone losing this week. |
| Gonzaga | I would drop them lower, but due to 9 teams losing ranked from 15-25, the Zags catch a lucky break. |
| Auburn | Each week college basketball just gets more chaotic. A road win against South Carolina saved them from dropping lower. |
| Wichita State | Two conference losses in a row is tough. They suffer the most this week after dropping two. |
| Arizona State | These guys may not be as good as everyone thought. KenPom was right the entire time. |
| Clemson | 0-59. Oh, and sorry about Zion. |
| Tennessee | Mizzou is a tough place to play a basketball game. Still 4th in the SEC, they enter the Big 12-SEC challenge with a road game vs ISU. |
| URI | Stuck between them and Nevada, but URI does not get enough attention. They are shredding the A10. |
| Miami (FL) | They actually move up after all of the chaos this week. Their game against Louisville will be an interesting one. |
| Saint Mary's | Stuck between them and Creighton. They may not have many good wins, and Creighton did crush Hall but just lost to Providence on the road. |
| Kansas State | Three ranked games in a row, resulted in going 2-1 and almost won at the Phog last week. This team is underrated. |
