Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kentucky | The Wildcats have put in some gritty performances, but maintain the #1 spot for me. |
| Virginia | I think this is as close as I've viewed a #2 to Kentucky. Beat an NC State team that took down Duke, then won at Top-10 Notre Dame. |
| Gonzaga | Bulldogs benefit from a couple teams losing, but they've also looked good in conference play. |
| Villanova | Won at St. John's, then took down an upstart team in DePaul. |
| Duke | Won at Wake Forest, before finally suffering their first loss of the season. How will this young team respond? |
| Louisville | Another tough loss for Louisville. Losing by one on the road to a team like Notre Dame isn't anything to feel bad about. |
| Utah | The Utes may be /r/CBB's spotlight team this week. Only had one game this week, but crushed Colorado in it. Really liking what I've seen. |
| Iowa State | Cyclones had two tight wins over ranked opponents this week. They're definitely making their case thus far in conference play. |
| North Carolina | Despite losing to Notre Dame, I moved the Tar Heels up a couple spots this week. They looked like a Top-10 team in both of those games. |
| Notre Dame | Big win at North Carolina, followed by a tough loss at Virginia. Still think this is a quality, Top-10 team when it's all said and done. |
| Arizona | Mere hours before our poll deadline, 'Zona loses in Corvallis. It'll only get tougher this week with Colorado and a surging Utah squad. |
| Wichita State | We're slowly working our way towards the first WSU-UNI game of the season. |
| Wisconsin | Badgers beat Purdue before losing at Rutgers on Sunday. |
| Maryland | Like Wisconsin, the Terps beat Purdue this week and suffered a conference road loss. |
| Kansas | Beat a good Baylor squad in Waco, then demolished Texas Tech by 32. |
| West Virginia | Lost by two to Iowa State. I wanted to keep the Mountaineers higher than this, but feel like 12-21 are nearly changeable. |
| Arkansas | Had two conference wins this week, and re-enter my rankings. Right now look like the second-best team in the SEC. |
| VCU | Rams also re-enter my rankings, fresh off the heels of two conference wins. |
| Oklahoma State | I swap Okie State and Oklahoma this week. Pokes beat Texas on the road but narrowly lost to Iowa State. |
| Oklahoma | I decided to drop the Sooners this week due to a huge performance at Texas followed by a loss to K-State. |
| NC State | Most would lose by 10 at Virginia. However, I don't think many can beat Duke by double digits. |
| Seton Hall | Lost at Xavier, but salvaged a Top-25 spot with a win over Creighton. |
| Providence | Friars re-enter my rankings with a couple nice conference wins. |
| Michigan State | Disregard that MSU needed overtime to beat Northwestern. Sparty's won three straight, and sit at 3-1 in the Big Ten. Virginia on Saturday. |
| Northern Iowa | This was a toss-up between UNI and Dayton. For me, I think UNI's been a little better lately. Currently on a 3-game winning streak. |
