Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | Between what they return and who they add, Kansas seems to be an easy pick to start at #1 |
| Duke | Duke brings an impressive class and is always able to compete. I expect more of the same this season. |
| Gonzaga | A surprising end to their run at the hands of FSU shouldn't put a damper n this season. The Zags are loaded and a key contender. |
| Kentucky | Like Kansas, Kentucky returns or brings in a lot of talent. But can they work together effectively? |
| Nevada | The Martin twins and others choosing to return makes Nevada a top team. It will be tough to go farther this season but Nevada has the means. |
| Tennessee | Outside of Kentucky, the Vols look like the best in the SEC. My final four pick last season may have been a season too soon. |
| North Carolina | |
| Virginia | |
| Villanova | The defending champions loose a fair bit, but I think Nova is here to stay and should prove capable of reloading and jumping right back in. |
| Auburn | |
| Kansas State | Another team bringing back key elements, Kansas State may be the biggest threat to Kansas, if the B12 is willing to change that is. |
| Michigan State | |
| West Virginia | |
| Virginia Tech | |
| Clemson | |
| Florida State | |
| Oregon | |
| Michigan | |
| Syracuse | |
| Marquette | At the moment I think Marquette is Nova's biggest threat in the Big East. |
| TCU | |
| San Diego State | Likely the second best team in the mountain west. They are out of Nevada's range, but should still reach the tourney. |
| Buffalo | The Bulls bring back much of last year's team and should be easy favorites in the MAC. This is a solid team and march was no fluke. |
| UCLA | |
| LSU |
