Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | Not sure what's going on with this FBI stuff but Lawson plus Azubuike could be a terrifying frontcourt |
| Kentucky | Kansas' frontcourt gives them the edge to start for me |
| Gonzaga | Huge experience coming back should make the Zags a title threat |
| Duke | Zion and Barrett should be really good; they have even less experience than Kentucky though |
| Nevada | Having two good players that look the same should be against the rules |
| Virginia | No more doubting Bennett's teams in the preseason, especially with Guy and Hunter back |
| North Carolina | Roy Williams with an experienced team can be a pretty good combo |
| Villanova | They lost a lot but Jay Wright will have this team at a top 10 level still |
| Tennessee | Williams and Schofield are a really nice returning duo |
| Auburn | Lots of experience returning to a solid team last year that should only go up |
| Kansas State | I'm not 100% sold that Elite 8 run wasn't somewhat of a fluke, they do have talent though if Weber doesn't ruin this team |
| Michigan State | Winston and Ward are nice players; they're the obvious favorite in the B1G |
| Syracuse | All starters return from a shocking Sweet 16 run; can they continue the momentum into this regular season is the question |
| Oregon | Good experience with good recruitment and a good coach should make this team the Pac 12 favorite |
| West Virginia | Konate is a nightmarish and Bob Huggins is a great coach; don't sleep on them despite the departures |
| TCU | Lots of experience return from an NCAA tournament team last year; Dixon will finally make this team a Big 12 contender |
| Virginia Tech | Maybe I have too much faith in Justin Robinson, but he can make this team a real force in the ACC |
| Florida State | They have plenty of talent returning from an Elite 8 run; I'm weary of Hamilton's coaching though |
| Marquette | The offense may be the best in the country, hopefully they have a much improved defense to coincide with it this year |
| Mississippi State | An ever-improving core returns, and Howland will make this team an SEC factor this year |
| Loyola Chicago | They lost a bit from their Final 4 team, but with Custer and Krutwig back, they should still be the best mid major team |
| UCF | Taylor and Tacko are gonna be a great inside and out attack; Dawkins still needs to prove himself tho |
| Michigan | They aren't gonna be as good as they were last year, but Beilein will keep them relevant |
| Clemson | Clemson and Nebraska both have strong returning production that should make them competitive |
| Nebraska | Next 5 out: Cincinnati, Washington, LSU, Indiana, Florida |
