Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Duke | +5: Looked like they might be one of the best teams ever against Kentucky, followed it up with a strong win over Army. |
| Virginia | -1: Defense already looks amazing, Jerome Guy and Hunter is an amazing top 3. Jerome already looking like a leader. |
| Kansas | -1: Probably the most skilled team 1-7 in the country, I think they don't have as much room to grow as some of the others. |
| Villanova | -1: Paschall and Booth are already excelling in their expanded roles, Gillespie is a strong piece. This train keeps moving. |
| North Carolina | -1: The frontcourt is insane and Little had his first breaktout game against Elon. A legit contender for top 5 O and D. |
| Nevada | +1: Dominated what should be a good BYU team and Martin has looked every bit the Wooden Award candidate he was expected to be. |
| Gonzaga | +1: No Tillie for the first month but that just means Hachimura can feast. |
| Kentucky | -3: Didn't look cohesive against Duke, nor did it feel they had the talent to compete, struggling against So. Ill didn't make me feel better |
| Tennessee | +0: Grant Williams is a stud and this team should excel on both ends of the court, even though Defense is their brand. |
| Syracuse | +0: Brissett is better than I thought, might be one of Boeheim's most talented teams. |
| Michigan State | +2: Loved the fight against Kansas, I think Ward is a problem on D and there's a lack of a third option, but the fight is there. |
| Kansas State | -1: First game didn't tell us anything other than this team can win dirty... |
| Auburn | +5: Methodically deconstructed a strong Washington team, just a really experienced backcourt. |
| Florida State | +2: Hamilton's teams are known to start hot and fade under pressure, we'll see if this version can withstand the heat. |
| Purdue | -1: It's bad news for this team that Haarms isn't starting, but if he can progress throughout the season... |
| Clemson | -1: We won't know much about what the team really is for a while, until then it's nice to see them dominate the warmups. |
| Virginia Tech | +0: A road game at Penn State has me on early upset alert for this team, but if they can come out with a win I'll be impressed. |
| West Virginia | -6: Allowed 1.15PPP against Buffalo, very un-Huggy like. Didn't like that they got blown out in OT. |
| Michigan | +4: The defense is impressive, I think Holy Cross struggled to hit 35, but there's not enough playmakers. |
| Oregon | +2: Bol Bol has been fun and Pritchard has feasted, I love that combo. |
| Texas Tech | +0: It's crazy that this team might finish 4th or 5th in the B12, the execute so well even with a lot of turnover. |
| Maryland | +3: Talented young team, but shooting has looked pretty dreadful so far. |
| Buffalo | NR: This team plays fast and matched up perfectly with WVU, they're afraid of no one. |
| Mississippi State | +0: Weatherspoon leads this squad on both ends and has performed so well through two games. |
| Ohio State | NR: Nice win over Cincinnati gives them an early bump into the mix. Next 5: Miami, Butler, TCU, Texas, LSU |
