Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | Kansas remains at the top despite a close call against unranked Stanford. You can thank Lagerald Vick for staying at #1, Jayhawk fans. |
| Gonzaga | Nice second-half rally from Norvell and the Bulldogs against Creighton to remain unbeaten. UW, Tenn, and UNC are up next. Can they go 3-0? |
| Duke | No surprise that Duke stays in the top 3 with dominant performances over Indiana and Stetson. Looking forward to Texas Tech on December 20. |
| Michigan | Sorry Cavs and Wolf Pack. Gotta bump you guys down a spot in order to move Michigan up. They beat Purdue and UNC by a combined 36 points! |
| Virginia | Still looking impressive even with Maryland providing a scare. Too bad they couldn't maintain that streak of holding opponents under 60. |
| Nevada | Another flawless week keeps the Wolf Pack near the top of the pack. Caroline, Martin and Martin might be the best trio outside of Duke. |
| Tennessee | Vols take care of business this week and improve to 6-1 with only a loss to Kansas. In just a week, they get Gonzaga. Oh, joy! |
| Auburn | Similar to Tennessee. Not much exciting going on this past week; they just took care of business like they were supposed to. Life goes on! |
| Kentucky | I'm still not sold on Kentucky, but with everyone else in this range losing, I have no choice but to bump them up a few spots. |
| Texas Tech | What's this? Top 10 Texas Tech?!? You better believe it. The Red Raiders are still undefeated, and Jarrett Culver might literally be God. |
| Michigan State | Drop of 3 with an OT loss against Louisville and a scare from Rutgers. Joshua Langford is a good player, but make your free throws, man! |
| Buffalo | No, I don't think #12 is too high. Buffalo can ball, and they backed it up by knocking off unbeaten San Francisco in Belfast. Keep chargin'! |
| Florida State | Florida State rebounds nicely by snagging a victory over Purdue after a tight loss to Villanova. That should keep the ball rolling! |
| Virginia Tech | They lost to my Nittany Lions, but they still played a great game, shooting over 50% from three. No doubt that they'll rebound soon. |
| Kansas State | Drop of 5 after a 12-point loss to Marquette. But maybe they wouldn't have lost if they hadn't fouled Markus Howard a million times! |
| Wisconsin | I've had Wisconsin unranked all year, though I think that was a mistake. Back-to-back wins over previously unbeaten NC State and Iowa. |
| Iowa | Only a one-spot drop for the Hawkeyes after playing Wisconsin close. Big challenge coming on Monday with a trip to East Lansing! |
| Arizona State | Hey, they're undefeated in non-conference yet again. How long will that last though? I've got a feeling Nevada is going to be ending that. |
| Ohio State | Yeah, that game against Syracuse didn't exactly have a pretty ending for the Buckeyes, but I won't punish them too much. Nice win vs. Minny. |
| Maryland | I haven't been giving the Terps enough credit. Maryland has some shooters with Cowan and Fernando. Too bad my Nittanies were the victims. |
| Nebraska | It's a Big Ten party here in the middle ranks! Nebrasketball has been back in top form after that loss to TTU, including a win over Clemson. |
| Mississippi State | I'm not positive that Mississippi State truly deserves to be this high, but with everyone else losing I'm not sure where else to put them. |
| Houston | Gotta show some love for the Cougars! Not only are they undefeated but they also just knocked off Oregon (who has promptly fallen out). |
| Furman | I WILL CONTINUE TO RANK FURMAN UNTIL THOSE COWARDS AT AP DO THE SAME! (But really that 2OT game vs. WCU was scary... watch out, Paladins!) |
| Villanova | Yeah, yeah, welcome back Wildcats. You're lucky Eric Paschall can ball or you'd have had your second mid-major upset this year already! |
