Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | I've been making polls on Reddit for years and I still have no idea what I'm really doing. |
| Gonzaga | |
| Virginia | |
| Michigan | Michigan had a great week with wins over North Carolina and Purdue. |
| Duke | Duke and Michigan were close in my eyes, but the Wolverines get the edge by being undefeated. |
| Nevada | |
| Tennessee | If you want better explanations for my Top 8 you can look at my poll from last week, because I don't care enough to write it again. |
| Auburn | I'm only confident in my top 8, and even that's barely stable. Can we all just agree this is for fun and not get too mad at each other? |
| Wisconsin | Only loss is to Virginia, and has also beat a good Iowa team on the road. The win over NC State ain't so bad either. |
| Florida State | I wrongly left FSU unranked last week because Villanova is weird this year and because Florida's secretly ass. I'm likely over-correcting. |
| Michigan State | Can't knock them too far for a close loss to Louisville on the road. |
| Texas Tech | Texas Tech and Arizona State are both undefeated with decent wins. So until they lose, I have no reason not to rank them highly. |
| Buffalo | Undefeated, and knocked off previously undefeated San Francisco in Northern Ireland this week. |
| Arizona State | See Texas Tech. |
| Virginia Tech | Only lost to Penn State by 1 on the road, so I'll cut them some slack. |
| Ohio State | The loss to Syracuse at home stings, but the Buckeyes road wins over Cincinnati and Creighton will keep them afloat. |
| North Carolina | Lost to a really good Michigan team on the road. Normally wouldn't have dropped much at all, but Texas (L) lost to frickin' Radford. |
| Nebraska | Beat Clemson on the road. Only loss is to Texas Tech. Good enough to get me back on the Nebrasketball hype train! |
| Furman | I don't know how long the Paladins can keep this up, but until they lose... RANK FURMAN YOU COWARDS! |
| Iowa | Tough week for the Hawkeyes, since both of their quality wins crapped the bed while they lost to Wisconsin at home. |
| Indiana | Their losses are forgivable: by 1 point @Arkansas and a stomping from Duke on the road. The win over Marquette looks much better now. |
| Kentucky | At least UNC-Greensboro is "something", but so many teams would have the same record on this schedule. The name "Kentucky" helps. |
| Marquette | Got destroyed by Indiana earlier in the year, but recent wins over K-State and Louisville have allowed forgiveness. |
| Louisville | W over Michigan State this week. Teams that just missed the ranks: K-State, Arizona, Creighton, UCLA, Purdue, Houston, St. John's, Maryland |
| Villanova | If you consider the OT loss against Furman a tie, their resume looks a lot better. But it wasn't, and Furman can't keep this run up, right? |
