Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Virginia | (+1) After VT I thought they were clearly #1, the single digit loss @Duke didn't really change much in that regard |
| Tennessee | (+1) Did what they were supposed to do this week. Definitely have a legit case to be #1, but I'd still take UVA on a neutral |
| Duke | (-2) They lost Jones/Reddish against Cuse but showed they can win w/o Jones against UVA. so they probably should have beat Cuse w/o him too |
| Michigan | (-) Wisconsin is where undefeated teams go to die, and thats what UM did. Still think they are extremely good and better than GU/MSU. |
| Michigan State | (+1) The two conference road wins put them above GU at least for now for me. Should beat Maryland at home but @Iowa may be interesting. |
| Gonzaga | (-1) Dropping them simply because I think MSU passed them, tough for them to do much against LMU and Portland. |
| Virginia Tech | (+1) The latest team to get assblasted in Charlottesville. Like TTU, not many teams behind them I think are worthy of jumping ahead. |
| Kentucky | (+5) Huge win @Auburn, probably their best game of the year. All that talent has come together. |
| Texas Tech | (-2) Two losses, one at home to a good ISU team. The 100+ ranked offense is a big concern for me if/when their defense fails them slightly. |
| Kansas | (-1) Keeping them ahead of Nevada, Marquette, Buffalo, UNC for now. Still 8-2 vs the top 100 of KenPom after the road loss. |
| Nevada | (+1) Narrowly avoided their 2nd loss of the season, the gap between them and the next group of teams got smaller for me this week. |
| Marquette | (+2) 5 game W streak for the fighting Markus Howard's, should make it 7 this week. |
| Buffalo | (+2) The dominance of the MAC continues and I don't know if it's ever going to stop. 2 road games against top 150ish teams this week though. |
| North Carolina | (+2) Played ND closer than they should have and handled Miami. Not enough to jump anyone this week but the game against VT is huge. |
| Maryland | (+8) 7-1 in the B1G now, big win over OSU on the road. A win (not expected) @MSU would be absolutely massive for this team. |
| Auburn | (-6) 0-4 in their 4 biggest games is a concern, Brown's magic wasn't enough against UK. Inches away from the last second go-ahead lay up. |
| Villanova | (+2) Not much going on, just another win over Xavier. Still undefeated in conference play. |
| Houston | (+2) Two decent wins this week but road wins are always hard to come by. @Tulsa will be an interesting game. |
| Mississippi State | (+3) Nice bounce back week for them. Now they have to prove themselves again against UK and Auburn. |
| Iowa State | (NR) Massive win @TTU, extremely talented team, the main question will always be health. Welcome back to the poll. |
| Florida State | (-10) 3 straight and 4/5 losses (2 completely understandable). Still believe in this team I just think they need their confidence back. |
| Iowa | (+3) Good road win @Penn State. Not really enough to see much movement however. |
| LSU | (NR) Big win @Ole Miss, is the talent on this team finally living up to the hype? |
| Ole Miss | (-6) Disappointing to lose like that on your home court, but they have two big opportunities this week. |
| Louisville | (NR) Very close between them and K-State here. The UNC win gets them in. (Next 5 - KState, Nebraska, Purdue, Wisconsin, Oklahoma) |
