Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Virginia | (1) Virginia stays #1. Truly believe they'd beat everyone on a neutral court |
| Duke | (2) Stays #2. I think they are the most talented team, but their shooting is a big question mark. |
| Tennessee | (3) Continue to survive close games. Still the best in the SEC though |
| Michigan | (4) |
| Gonzaga | (6) |
| Michigan State | (5) Only fall one spot because losing at Purdue isn't bad, especially when you beat Maryland and Iowa in the same week. |
| Kentucky | (9) |
| Nevada | (7) |
| Marquette | (10) |
| North Carolina | (13) |
| Virginia Tech | (8) |
| Villanova | (17) |
| Kansas | (14) They moved up 1 spot despite losing a close game on the road to UK. I dont know what to make with KU without Doke. |
| Purdue | (21) One of the biggest jumps in my ballot. I think the computers are a tad bit high, but they aren't wrong in Purdue being a good team. |
| Buffalo | (11) Fall 4 spots. I'm not going to hurt them much for losing on a buzzer beater, but they should have won that game by 6+ points |
| Houston | (19) they continue to win, but they also don't play anyone. Luckily, they get a tough stretch coming up in the AAC. |
| Iowa State | (24) Another big jump, even though they lost at KU. They played as well as I thought at KU, so not punishing for that, and they won at Miss |
| Louisville | (20) |
| Texas Tech | (15) Would have fallen harder if so many teams behind them didn't lose. Tech is a streaky team right now. |
| Wisconsin | (UR) Back in the poll after a tough stretch. We will see how long this lasts |
| LSU | (25) Probably too high but at this point, I have no idea who to rank. Close game at Mizzou that they should have lost |
| Mississippi State | (UR) Blowout loss at Kentucky, but won vs Auburn. SEC is a mess after the top 2. |
| Auburn | (12) Bad week for Auburn. Not sure what to make of them. |
| Kansas State | (22) Had a great stretch in the Big 12, and then lost at Texas A&m. Woof |
| TCU | (UR) TCU is back in. Losses by less than 10. Others considered: Oklahoma, NC State, Washington, and Wofford |
