Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Virginia | (LW: 1) Two more dominant wins for Tony Bennett's Blue and Orange machine. |
| Michigan | (LW: 2) Both the next 2 teams avoided potential upsets and showed a lot of fortitude |
| Duke | (LW: 3) |
| Michigan State | (LW: 5) Right, so this team played three times this week. Two ranked wins and nearly a comeback on the road. That's a good week. |
| Tennessee | (LW: 4) I'm more impressed by MSU's fight (and two ranked wins) than I was with Tennessee's two wins over .500 teams |
| Kentucky | (LW: 11) This is the team I was expecting before the start of the season. |
| Kansas | (LW: 6) Can't lie, their resume still reads like a top 5 team. Have to fix their problems defending the post though. |
| Gonzaga | (LW: 7) Oh hey, finally a potentially difficult game this week. We'll see if BYU can pull their yearly upset on Thursday. |
| Marquette | (LW: 8) Let's see if Marquette can play these next two games with as much focus as they will for the upcoming Villanova game. |
| Nevada | (LW: 9) A potential challenge @UNLV this week? Maybe they'll actually play a solid 1st half. |
| Villanova | (LW: 20) There's quite a drop off after the top 10, but Nova's dominance against the Big East moves them up big. |
| LSU | (LW: 16) They're doing what they need to do, taking care of the bottom of the SEC. |
| North Carolina | (LW: 21) Their SOR is a lot better than I thought it was, aided obviously by that demolition against Virginia Tech |
| Virginia Tech | (LW: 13) I wish I could've dropped them more, but couldn't quite justify it. |
| Texas Tech | (LW: 15) Would've been a disaster if they dropped a home game to Arkansas, they're still afloat for now. |
| Louisville | (LW: NR) It's about time I recognized what Chris Mack has done with the Cards, a 5 game win streak in the ACC is impressive. |
| Houston | (LW: 21) Time for some revenge against Temple - their only loss so far this season. |
| Oklahoma | (LW: 24) I'm still high on this team, their schedule in early January was brutal to them. |
| Purdue | (LW: NR) Quietly, the Boilers have gone 7-2 to start their B1G slate, with losses only to Michigan and Michigan State |
| Iowa State | (LW: 22) A decent performance considering their week consisted of 2 top 25 road games. |
| Maryland | (LW: 10) There's the Mark Turgeon I remember |
| Iowa | (LW: 14) The B1G will always provide some very tough weeks, the Hawkeyes couldn't manage to dodge the losses. |
| NC State | (LW: 18) A Braxton Beverly buzzer beater saved the Wolfpack from dropping out of the top 25. |
| Buffalo | (LW: 17) Every extra regular season loss they take, the further down the S-curve they drop |
| Mississippi State | (LW: 25) I had trouble finding a #25, so we'll stick with the Bulldogs. Next 5: Auburn, Florida State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas State |
