Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Virginia | (-) Did what they were supposed to this week beating up on Miami and ND. If they continue to score like this i'm not sure how they lose |
| Duke | (+1) Struggled with GT for a bit but pulled it out. Jones back sooner than expected helps a lot. Jump Tenn for now. |
| Tennessee | (-1) I think they got bailed out @Vandy, but it's a tough place to play. Grant Williams continues his dominance across CBB. |
| Michigan | (-) Struggled @home vs Minny, but bounced back to destroy Indiana in Bloomington. |
| Michigan State | (-) Fought back to make the Purdue game respectable, even with the loss I am not worried even an ounce about this team |
| Gonzaga | (-) Press F for Santa Clara, not sure they will even come close to losing in the WCC |
| Kentucky | (+1) Picked up their 3rd straight ranked win against KU, finally getting the team we all expected |
| Kansas | (+2) Lost @UK but also beat ISU at home. I'm not 100% sure where i'm at on this team but I cant drop them behind others quite yet. |
| Nevada | (+2) Not much this week, did what they were supposed to against Air Force and CO State. Very close between them, Marquette, and UNC. |
| Marquette | (+2) Completed the sweep of Xavier on the road, only have to prepare for @Butler this week which should be a good one |
| North Carolina | (+3) I think the VT win is a bit of fool's gold due to VT's foul trouble but whenever this team hits 16 threes they are gonna look good |
| Virginia Tech | (-5) The early foul trouble screwed them @UNC but they bounced back with a nice win over Cuse. Not sure I could drop them any further |
| Villanova | (+4) They continue to roll through the BE, probably should win 3 more before going to Marquette. |
| Houston | (+4) Get their revenge game on Temple before going to UCF. Should beat Temple at home but UCF could get interesting. We'll see how it goes |
| Texas Tech | (-6) I didn't drop them much after Baylor but after KSU I feel like this is appropriate. Great defense, but the offense gets worse and worse |
| Iowa State | (+4) Responded to the KU loss by going on the road and destroying ranked Ole Miss. Them and Buffalo are the end of this tier in my mind |
| Buffalo | (-4) Wasn't sure where they'd end up but this feels right. I still feel they're better than the next tier of teams below them after the loss |
| Mississippi State | (+1) Did what I thought they would this week, don't think they deserve to jump/be jumped by anyone this week really |
| Purdue | (NR) Not 100% what to make of the win @OSU but coupled with the MSU win I feel comfortable they are top 20. Should get 2 more W's this week |
| Louisville | (+5) Picked up 2 home wins, one against NCST. Go to Wake before trying to complete the sweep of UNC at home, interesting week for the Cards |
| Florida State | (-) Bounced back nicely with the win over Clemson and @Miami, @Cuse this week will be a good barometer for both teams |
| LSU | (+1) The fact that a miraculous comeback was needed for the Mizzou win is a bit concerning but a win is a win. Should win both this week |
| NC State | (NR) Similar to LSU, the miraculous comeback needed to beat Clemson is concerning. The Virginia schools are coming making for a tough week. |
| Wisconsin | (NR) Another metric darling team. Get a chance to further prove it @Nebraska and vsUMD. Big time tests for the Badgers this week |
| Maryland | (-10) They just manage to hang on in my poll, the MSU loss was expected but the neutral to Illinois makes no sense. |
