RankTeamReason
Gonzaga University Logo Gonzaga (+0) St. Mary's gave them a scare as usual but the Zags held their composure, they look very solid but admittedly against weak competition
University of Virginia Logo Virginia (+0) With Zion hurt, Virginia is the best team in the ACC in my opinion. Assuming Zion plays the tourney the big matchups will be exciting.
Duke University Logo Duke (+0) Definitely look worse without Zion, but UK is the only team that could've jumped them and we shall see when Zion returns
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Logo North Carolina (+1) Close, harrowing wins over Clemson and Syracuse but those teams are both solid like almost everyone in the ACC
University of Kentucky Logo Kentucky (-1) Not a good look on Saturday, this UK team looks much worse without Reid Travis and hopefully he comes back soon
University of Tennessee Logo Tennessee (+0) Great win over the Cats, these two teams are very close but I kept UK above due to Travis being out and the blowouts being shared
University of Michigan Logo Michigan (+4) UM was spiraling a little bit, blowing Nebraska out and then going into Maryland and beating a good team are good signs for this team
Purdue University Logo Purdue (+2) Beating OSU by 35 is great for this team, the BIG definitely has 3 final four threats this March.
Texas Tech University Logo Texas Tech (+4) Slightly reevaluated my ranking of Texas Tech, they're in position in the Big 12, had a good week, and have an insane defense
Michigan State University Logo Michigan State (-2) The Spartans are definitely good but Indiana is not and losing twice to them recently is not a good look
Louisiana State University Logo LSU (+1) They have shown the potential to beat anyone, could very well win the SEC regular season as a real dark horse
University of Houston Logo Houston (-5) Houston definitely has potential to go far in March but slipping up is punished harder in a softer schedule
University of Kansas Logo Kansas (+5) Good win against KSU to keep hope in the streak alive
Marquette University Logo Marquette (-5) Not a good week for Marquette, could've clinched the conference but now find themselves tied with Villanova
Wofford College Logo Wofford (+1) Great wins this week, Wofford has definitely cemented their at-large bid in my mind, although this ranking feels high but others lose
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Logo Virginia Tech (+7) Have great metrics, and even though Zion was hurt their continuous possession of Duke's number is quite impressive
University at Buffalo Logo Buffalo (+0) Picked up another couple wins but felt wary moving them up too high, they have shown weakness
University of Cincinnati Logo Cincinnati (+1) Two very narrow wins this week, but keep winning and maintaining their position in the rankings
Kansas State University Logo Kansas State (-5) Losing to Kansas isn't optimal but KSU still definitely has hope, both in the Big 12 and in March in general
Florida State University Logo Florida State (+2) FSU is definitely a dark horse team in March Madness, they are very similar to the Elite Eight team of last year
University of Nevada, Reno Logo Nevada (-6) Another loss shows that the Wolfpack were way overhyped, lost their chance for a Q1 win but ironically retroactively won a Q1 by losing
Virginia Commonwealth University Logo VCU (+3) Narrow margins of victory this week but I hope VCU can get an at-large if they don't win the tourney
Auburn University Logo Auburn (NR) Auburn looked real bad against UK but other than that have looked solid recently, if their shots are falling they have potential
University of Wisconsin-Madison Logo Wisconsin (-3) Losing to Indiana isn't good but this team still has great metrics and has potential to pull off some upsets on anyone
Villanova University Logo Villanova (NR) Also considered: Maryland, Mississippi State, Louisville, Iowa State, Washington, Texas
