RankTeamReason
University of Virginia Logo Virginia The Defending Champs will always get the number 1 spot in my preseason top 25 until I see teams play real games
University of Kentucky Logo Kentucky Most talented team on paper. Great mix of youth and experience
University of Kansas Logo Kansas Potential to be great if Azubuike has taken a step forward
Michigan State University Logo Michigan State Lost more than many experts think. Langford’s injury compounds this
Duke University Logo Duke Tre Jones is the engine that runs things, freshman will step up
University of Maryland, College Park Logo Maryland I think they’re the best team in the big ten on paper, but Turgeon knocks them down a few spots
University of Louisville Logo Louisville Idk if Nwora is a first teamer like many say, and I need to see the freshmen play before I reserve judgement
Gonzaga University Logo Gonzaga Athleticism, length and talent across the board, this should be another great Gonzaga team.
Seton Hall University Logo Seton Hall Myles Powell is my pick for player of the year, and I think seton hall has a chance to be the Texas Tech of this season
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Logo North Carolina Roy did a good job filling out his team, maybe not as good as past Carolina teams, but still a major contender in the acc
Villanova University Logo Villanova Lose two great players, but the talented freshmen could make up for it and then some.
University of Florida Logo Florida Return a lot and bring a lot in, but I’m not sold on the gators as a top 10 team. Lost a lot of games last year.
Texas Tech University Logo Texas Tech Beard is in a group of coaches that I believe in no matter the returning talent. Coaching wins in college basketball.
Purdue University Logo Purdue Matt Painter is another coach like Chris Beard one above him. Purdue’s growth is tied to its 4 sophomores this season
Utah State University Logo Utah State Loved this team last year and they bring back a lot of what made them so fun to watch. This year’s Nevada
University of Colorado Logo Colorado Don’t understand why they aren’t getting more love. Bring back their best players and may be the best team in a shallow conference
Xavier University Logo Xavier Great cast of returnees make Xavier a prime bounce back candidate
University of Memphis Logo Memphis Love their fabulous freshmen, but it’s questionable if it all gels for penny
University of Oregon Logo Oregon Had a fun March run, and I believe that experience translates to this season
Auburn University Logo Auburn Pearl is bringing in great talent, and though they lose a lot, I think some bench guys will take the reins
Saint Mary's College of California Logo Saint Mary's Should be better this year, Ford can take over games, and Bennett is a great coach
Ohio State University Logo Ohio State Bring on a lot of talent, and the guys they lose can be solidly replaced
University of Arizona Logo Arizona The talent is there, it remains to be seen if that talent can produce
Baylor University Logo Baylor I look for Baylor to be solid this tear, nothing really jumps out at me, but I think they’ll be a very good basketball team
University of Houston Logo Houston Quentin Grimes’ addition puts the cougars in my top 25
