jsmith4415's Ballot for Week 9 of 2014-15| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Kentucky
|
Most impressive. Best defense in the country. Has best collection of wins: Kansas, Texas, Carolina, Louisville |
| 2 |
Duke
|
Not far behind UK. Arguably has the best offense in the country. Has great win. over Wisconsin on the road. |
| 3 |
Virginia
|
Probably the second best defense behind UK. Has a veteran group, and have played really good ball. Beat Maryland on the road. |
| 4 |
Gonzaga
|
Of "1-loss" teams, Zags have best resume. Have played a tough OOC schedule and performed very well. |
| 5 |
Wisconsin
|
Did not show up in lone marquee OOC game, but has quality wins on neutral floor over Georgetown and Oklahoma |
| 6 |
Arizona
|
Outside of the UNLV loss, 'Zona has played really well. Has a big win over Gonzaga in OT under their belt. |
| 7 |
Louisville
|
Has played a relatively weak schedule. Good wins over B1G schools Indiana, Minnesota, and Ohio State. |
| 8 |
Texas
|
Has a weird loss at home to Stanford, but was without PG Isaiah Taylor. He's back now plus Horns are really good. |
| 9 |
Maryland
|
Really like this team a lot. Could be undefeated without injuries. Will challenge Wisconsin for B1G title. |
| 10 |
Villanova
|
Tough loss today, but 'Nova has been very good in non-conf. |
| 11 |
North Carolina
|
Seems to be the norm that UNC struggles in a game or two that they shouldn't in non-conf. Starting to come into their own. |
| 12 |
Utah
|
Could also be undefeated; has two really close losses away from home by combined 6 pts. |
| 13 |
Iowa State
|
At full strength Cyclones are the real deal. Problem is they haven't been. Nonetheless they have played really well. |
| 14 |
Notre Dame
|
They just won't lose. But it won't last forever, ACC is very tough league. |
| 15 |
Kansas
|
Even with two blowout losses, how can KU not be a top-15 team after tough OOC schedule and only having two losses? |
| 16 |
West Virginia
|
Mountaineers are another team that could be undefeated. Have played really good ball. |
| 17 |
Ohio State
|
Hasn't show much in their only big games so far; losses to UL, UNC, Iowa. But still very good. |
| 18 |
VCU
|
Two of three losses are to two teams in top 10. VCU may own A10 this year. |
| 19 |
Oklahoma
|
Has some tough losses, but also has some good wins. Consistency will be tough in Big XII. |
| 20 |
Seton Hall
|
Can't ignore the Hall anymore. Big win today against Nova. |
| 21 |
Wichita State
|
Riding on a lot of last year's momentum. Shockers haven't been impressive like their ranking suggests. |
| 22 |
Baylor
|
Bears have eeked out some wins against so-so competition, but has also looked good in big games. |
| 23 |
Butler
|
Butler has gone through a lot of adversity and still rattling off big wins. |
| 24 |
Georgia
|
Is this football? But really. Dawgs playing like second best in SEC right now. |
| 25 |
Stanford
|
Lost to DePaul. But beat Texas. Balancing effect, no? |
